Easily my favourite watch. Goes with everything, not too flashy but lovely to look at.

Also need a new battery fitted to a Seiko Kinetic and a Seiko Perpetual Calendar. Got some crazy quotes off people on-line for these, again - anybody recommend anywhere local?

:cheers

Ps. Bit dissapointed in the Rado, battery only lasts about a year and was pretty pricey last time. Bought Mrs FS a Cartier about five years ago and it's still going strong on the original battery. :scratch
Martins of Glasgow up in maryhill. He is the SE watch fettler of choice.
I finally made it in to Martins on Saturday.
Really friendly guy, loved the service and the knowledge, he obviously knows his stuff.

He fitted the battery in my Rado there and then, everywhere else wants to send it away so well chuffed. Last time it cost me £39.99 and took three weeks. Martin charged me £15 :thumbsup

Thanks for the tip, I'll be going there whenever I need anything watch related from now on. :cheers

I'm not into watches in the slightest but this was very interesting :thumbsup
"During his lifetime, George Daniels was considered by many to be the finest watchmaker - or horologist - in the world.
Working from his studio in the Isle of Man, Daniels is claimed to be the first person in history to make every component of a watch from scratch and by hand. The timepieces he painstakingly produced were said to be among the most extraordinary and technically advanced watches ever made".

Got around to modding my Seiko BFK beater - The bezel insert was knackered, so fitted a new bezel, along with fitting Plongeur hands / a Sapphire crystal... Quite pleased with how it turned out :)

You are a far far far more patient man than i am.

I was doing an FFF mod. Hand removal was almost botched, the face replacement was fine but putting the hands back on resulted in a full on sense of humour failure.

im getting to that age in my life

I fancied a pocket watch for a while to wear with my kilt, has to be silver.

would love something like this. Image

Its going to be a present from my mum, so not looking to spend a fortune.

Any pointers please.

PS ive already e-mailed Martins in Glasgow and they offered me these.

2 – Sterling silver hallmarked 1886 open faced “Shearer of Glasgow” key wind & key set, with decorative case back with centre gold surround. Engraved monogram that may not be able to polished out. - £395.00 not including a chain.
