Re: Autosolo, 30th Nov Johnston
Dom - sent a pm requesting a mail with the form.
Also, apologies if I'm being dim but what's the deal with payment, cheque on the day for the membership and cash for event or cheque / cash for both?
Cheers,
Chris

Cash will be fine for both
It's also worth mentioning, there will be no cafe or catering at the event, so bring a sandwich or something to keep you going. (fat barsteward faction)

Dom,
Just for clarification, do we need helmets for this?

And wrap up - from memory, you're standing about a truck depot in the depths of winter - makes KH seem tropical at this time of year

As per Shug's comment, some warm clothes make life a bit more comfortable

Things I'll take / do in preparation;
1. Entry Form for the event
2. Membership form for the club (if req - otherwise membership card)
3. Cash to pay; £10 for event, £10 for membership.
4. Warm clothes
5. Food & drink
6. Tyre pump - it will be worth sticking some extra PSi in the rears. You can do that at the Morrisons filling station in Johnston, but it's useful to have a pump with you to make changes. In the dry, I run the rears at 50 PSi - in the damp/wet nearer to standard pressure will be fine.
7. Fuel - you won't use too much, so there is no need for a full tank. In fact a full tank will just mean extra weight. Half a tank id probably ideal - much less that that and you may suffer from fuel surge.
8. A decent handbrake - not essential for an autosolo, but might be helpful
9. Clear the car out of any excess belongings - (same at trackday) you don't want anything flying about in the car when you are driving.
10. DON'T FORGET TO LOWER YOUR TYRE PRESSURES BACK TO NORMAL BEFORE HEADING HOME. I always remember that

Re: Autosolo, 30th Nov Johnston
Hi Dom,
I'm planning to pop along to this on Saturday - possibly just to spectate / have a natter as I'm not sure whether or not I'll have a suitable car with me.
Are there any spaces left and if so is it possible to sign up on the day?

Don't mind joining the club if required.

I've got a cheapo tyre compressor with a guage on it so I'll bring that.
Suppose I should get rid of the camping gear out of the boot too.
Addition to your list would be check your fluid levels before you leave.

Hi Kevin, it would be great to see you. Best get along in time to enter the event, you'll only regret it if you don't. As far as I know, you should be okay to get an entry on the day. I'll drop SSCC an email in the morning to say you are a "maybe".Kayfur wrote:Hi Dom,

Re: Autosolo, 30th Nov Johnston
Going to pop over too. Will tag along with Bob. Maybe I should bring some cash in case there are spaces available.

Re: Autosolo, 30th Nov Johnston
I'm sure there will be space!
Maybe we should have told lewis there was no space.
Awesome fun today Dom and can't wait for the next one.
Was expecting a lot more like autotesting but liked the fact that you could either attack it with clean lines or you could attack it like a hooligan.
The fact that I only made it out of first gear a couple of times was good as well. Meant I wasn't going to make a mess if I went wrong.
Thanks once again, and it must hurt that all the loti got beat by a Vauxhall.
