<Yawn>......
Re: F1 dies a little bit more
It becomes more of a circus with each new year - it does mean there is more of a chance of the final race being a decider but hardly fair that one race can have so much influence on the outcome.
They are also allowing drivers to pick their own numbers for life
I am surprised that there are no points for. Qualifying or fastest lap - that would potentially give a bit more competitiveness (althought Vettel would still do well from both)

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
I really don't get the last race double points thing, either RB will romp home further ahead, or there is a chance that they could claw a victory off another team that has fought hard all season to get ahead

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
It is a bit silly, but remember that it was only late 80s or maybe 90 that the best results rule was thrown away. So they only had to use a percentage of the results in the year - say 11 races out of 19. TBH, I'd have preferred bringing this back in as it lets the engineers be a little more adventurous. But of course, that doesn't fit in with the current "use one engine all year, ration your food" mentality that F1 thinks will show they are trying to cut costs...

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
If they want to spice things up, put a sprint race on the saturday with a reverse top 10 grid.
Less points for the sprint race, but it would not be about saving tyres or conserving fuel, it'd just be an out and out blast. The drivers and teams would have to decide if they wanted to set their car up and qualify for the sprint race or the main race or a compromise between the 2, as no changes after qualifying.

F1 dies a little bit more
I always thought racing was about the fastest driver showing his skills, often being able to win even if he wasn't in the best car on the day.
F1 hasn't been about that for a long time.
Every time I hear about rule changes that are supposed to make the racing better I get a little bit excited but as usual it's a disappointment.
I've tried to watch some of the races this year but it's been so boring I've never made it to the end.
Playing F1 2013 on the Xbox is more fun than watching the races IMHO.
Or am I missing something??

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
Not really, you know the winner before it starts.
There is sometimes some good moves from further down the field, but when Button can not even get into Q3, Alonzo also at times, and Hamilton with only one win, it is pretty yawn making.
tut
ps:- one thing that probably will change is the reliability which has reached a very high level, but there are going to be more breakdowns next year.

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
I think the best we can hope for is that the rule changes have levelled the field and everyone is on an even footing so the best drivers win.
In reality Newey at Red Bull means they will probably be quick out of the box and we are back where we were with everyone else fighting for the lower positions

Re: F1 dies a little bit more
I'm hoping that the change of rules with the aero set up will take away some of RB's advantage (No blown aero) and give the others a chance. I am looking forward to the start of the season with the changes hopefully mixing things up. If it returns to "business as usual" with RB out front, I think I'll be rapidly loosing interest.

Yea, but Newey's right hand man has defected to McLaren so might not be as dominant as it was .................. hopefully.

Aye, hopefully this means a little more excitement, but who is to say that RB might already have massive advancements in the pipeline way ahead of everyone else, whilst they all try and play catch up?!Mikie711 wrote:
