Good work Steve, I know damage was minor but that's a good price for an unrepaired Cat D
That would be good money for a repaired Cat D.

Not Half,

Think perhaps Mandy's car is a bit on the cheap side now.

I don't think so Mac, more like an exceptional deal for Steve!

Was said tounge in cheek a little Simon.

Well done to Steve though it makes me wonder why folk are tripping over a cat D when there's a "straight" one for same at not a huge amount more.

(for straight read undamaged)

Steve can confirm, but i think the deal was for the car, official lotus cover, hardtop and carry bag.

Also had alot of tweaks and damage was very light.

Mac, if you've still got Mandy's car for sale in a months time, then i'll get in touch

Mac, if i am honest, for me it was purely budget, just bought a house and 6k wouldnt hurt me however 10k would.

Also the spec of Steve's car was just what i was looking for, something quick i wouldnt get bored with, not that Mandy's is not a good spec, but the 180bhp, exhaust, hard top, s2 suspension, just made me get that little excited!

However, Steve you have now forced me to spend this morning on Pistonheads and I think i have found myself a nice little Westy! Now is where i need to be on blatchat finding out more from Ross!

Heh - I'm don't want to sound like sour grapes - although I can understand why it would come across as such.

I know Steve's car isn't the run of the mill elise - it's more like my S2 in that respect and that it's like crips - pay your money, take your choice and not everybody likes plain.

I was just suprised at the difference in interest level - I've hardly had a reply or e-mail for the S1.

Just a bit grumpy as I've had to let a RSA slip though my fingers because the elise is still in the drive. Didn't mean to take it out on anyone - I do as I please with my money and there's no reason why others can't do the same.

Sorry

Just want to say that:

1. The new owner IS a member and I don't think it's fair to discuss the price and whether people think it was worth it or not, especially when people don't know the car or the details of the sale. I had no intention of disclosing any information regarding the sale and was going to leave it at the new owner’s discretion.

2. A car is worth whatever people are prepared to pay for it. My S1 has a lot of desirable extras and this was reflected in the interest shown. The new owner is happy with the deal in the same way that Dave and Ross are disappointed by missing out, this in my mind strengthens the fact it was a desirable car and worth the price paid. At the end of the day, there was only £150 difference between the winning offer and the next highest bidder.

Yeah totally agree! That is why i didnt push the price thing.

Anyway, i will stay green with envy as it was a bloody good car!
