An update from Stuart.

Hi tut
Great. Just keeping in touch and will update when we are back. Timings will be a guide on the '13 timetable, but will map out the vision soon. We think we will have 6 Clark cars, 20-30 Lotus Cortinas and want the 200 Lotus old and new. Murray's very keen to support everything.
Cheers

Just moving this back to the top of the pile as I was looking for it for when we are putting together our LEGS 2014 diary as discussed at the weekend.
One thing I don't see mentioned that will probably be the case but having marshalled at KH for 30 years and attended most BTCC meets, to gain access to the centre of the track where they are talking of parking us means crossing the race track. That usually means being in very early and being last out along with the marshals. (At least you miss the traffic!) You don't normally get to come and go. At least you will have a dry seat when the usual KH 4 seasons comes through in one day. Something that we will be clarifying over on LEGS in due course.

Is there scope to camp the night before?
Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
I stayed the whole weekend at the BTCC with the kids about 12 years ago in our caravan, it was great. We did a trackwalk every night, and collected brken car bits, the kids loved it.Dominic wrote:Is there scope to camp the night before?

Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
If we could organise some camping for those who want to, a wee mini campaganza bbq etc the night before could be good.
Tut, next time you are in touch with Stuart Gray, can you ask about camping? I have his contact details, so I can inquire if you wish?
Cheers

Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
Just e-mailed Stuart and had an immediate reply. As I would not go anyway to the BTCC event, it looks like this is not for me. Apart from having to pay the full ticket price when we are displaying our cars there, I am not going to sit around in one place all day for ten hours, I would end up in hospital.

Hi Stuart, hope you had a good Xmas, and all the best for the New Year to yourself and the rest of my friends at KH.
I have had several questions about the weekend, so the best bet is to go to the thread on the Forum and read them for yourself.
http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... =2&t=37682
Main ones are:-
1) Will entry be free for the S_E cars or is there payment?
Yes, there is a normal ticket purchase payment as those wanting to do it. They will need to buy tickets in advance by using the code JIMCLARK50 which will then allow us to donate 20% of those sales to the Jim Clark Trust.
2) Will it be possible to camp there for the two nights?
We have camping, on a first come first served basis, located near Clarks Corner, and booked in the normal way and normal rates apply,
3) As we are parked in the middle of the circuit, will there be access to and fro across the track, or will the cars be there for the whole period?
Cars will need to be parked up by 7.45am latest as the track goes live at 8.30am, gates open at 6am. We will need to work out this process, cars will need to get a special windscreen display sticker, IT IS NOT FOR LOTUS SIMPLY TURNING UP ON THE DAY. All cars must remain in the centre until the end of the racing around 5.45pm. A car may be allowed to escape at the lunch break, but only if there is an emergency at home. The space can accommodate 150 cars only, plus the Murray display unit. Any other Lotus not in the first 150 will simply have to park up in the normal spectator areas, so we will need to start a list of those coming, who have confirmed they are coming, as they have purchased an entry ticket in advance.
Cheers

Camping?
They have a great bit of grass out by the main door and some pretty impressive 'greens' in the grounds but last time I asked they would not let me even park the Audi at the door, never mid set up a 'Force 10' on the lawn....
I have an idea formulating involving a photoshoot in the grounds and possibly a quick morning coffee or afternoon tea during the Touring Car weekend.

Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
Er no, C7steve is correct. I wish I had the cash, then I'd have something else along with the latest one. No, a series of perfectly logical man-maths situations arose (I blame Craig at MMC 100%) leading me to be an unintentional prolific serial owner up to the present 4th one which is the best yet.tut wrote:Waiting for the full details Al from Stuart, amongst other points are will we get free entrance or be required to pay, which could make a difference on numbers attending.
