1. Buy house by the summer
2. Smash new job out of the park
3. Sell vx and purchase stupid replacement
4. [soppy] continue to spend as much quality time with my wife as I possibly can. [/soppy]
5. Use Triumph more

'13 was such a brilliant year with the wedding, honeymoon and work going really well. As such it will be hard to beat but it's looking like 2014 should be a good one.

Last year was a sh*t personal life for me, so more fun in the next year.
Goals are
Get a new job that pays what I believe I deserve
Loose enought weight to be 'normal' weight
Have fun, enjoy life to the full

Hopefully that includes lots of road runs and a few weekends away with Lotus crews.
After yesterday doing the steam train, today is get up mid morning(as i'm in Yorkshire with friends) and either climb a 1000ft hill which requires a 1hr drive and unlikely or a full on swim in Robin Hood bay this afternoon then head back to our lodge for many drinks and steak pie.

Happy New Year to all of you.

It's a reference to a television advertisement often shown on youth channels in which cats are implored to "be more dog" ... because dogs are better, obviously :-) It is as good a philosophy as any!

Cheers,

On reflection, 2013 was pretty good as far as I'm concerned - Took the gamble of leaving London after 4 years to set up life abroad in Ireland, and it seems to be paying off so far. Finally cleared my feet of the aftermath of a failed business venture back in 2008. Bought a nice(ish) car, and managed to get it on track at Mondello - Also made it along to the annual SE Oulton trip, which was a laugh.

2014 goals...

1. Build a credit rating in Ireland - No issues in the UK, but starting afresh over there takes a bit of getting used to.
2. Continue saving to buy property over there - Need for an Irish mortgage is linked to the above!
3. Do a Euro road trip in the miNi, taking in a few decent passes.
4. Having taken up bikram yoga last year and lost 1.5 stone, I've fallen off the wagon and regained it all. 2014 goal is to get back on it.
5. Professional development - I've avoided many courses my employer has offered / encouraged me to attend in 2013, as I'd wanted to get settled in Ireland. 2014's the year to pull to finger out and make amends, even if it does mean being away from home a fair bit.

:cheers

love this,

Claire and myself were discussing over Christmas that there will be no 'resolutions' made, in place of that we would be making a 'to do' list of what we want to achive and do in 2014,

Here are a few of my goals.

1. Get out on the bike more and compete in at least 1 gravity enduro event.
2. Win the championship (SMRC) however attainable or not, you need to dream big!
3. Go camping more
4. Buy another motorbike
5. Go on holiday in the summer with Claire (booking that this weekend before I get my balls chopped off!)
6. Do at least 1 charity sporting event.
7. Build a garage
8. Landscape the garden now the house is finished
9. Get Claire on track with my e30
10. Do a skydive

Good choice - no one should go to their grave without trying freefall skydiving :) If you want some advice on where to do it, give me a shout. There are definitely drop zones to avoid!

My goals:

1. A respectable result in the 4-way National Skydive Championships with my team Kesshin. We are moving up a class this year so it is a mega challenge.
2. Cycle the Haute Route from Geneva to Nice, hopefully in September. Get really fit on the bike over the summer to do it.
3. Juggle the time commitment for the latter 2 while still spending lots of time with my wee boy Max.
4. Do more open water swimming.
5. Buy an interesting car of some description.
6. As usual ensure work has the minimal impact on the rest of my life :-)

I have met Eddie a few times at Strathallan, although I haven't jumped there for 3 or 4 years now. Really nice guy and he was very helpful to me when I was starting to jump in the UK after doing an AFF course in Spain.
