You could make Aberdeenshire a integral-city state - you'd have so much currency up there it would be like Monacotut wrote:That would not work, the Glaswegeens would deep fry the chicken heads and smoke the sheep droppings.![]()

Views on Independence.
Leaving politics to one side.
The only truth about 'Sales' is that for some things you have to buy from people. Another human being. Someone whose underlying traits you feel are integrity and honesty, otherwise you will not part with the cash, no matter how good the 'thing' you are paying for. Independence or no independence. Would you buy a new Lotus Exige at £60K+ from Alex Salmond....I rest my case.

Re: Views on Independence.
What they mean by no currency union is we wouldn't have a say on anything the bank of England did. You can use any currency as long as someone is willing to take it.(Do marks and sparks still take Euro's ?) As expected the No camp as with all modern politics it's about putting the frightners on the voters. It's been a long time since a political party has tried to sell you on their ideaoligy (sp?) or on what they want to do to make your life/the UK a better (although nowadays that get's palmed off as being a "wish list") It's all about trying to scare you away from voting for the other side because "it will get worse under their control".
If we need an example the last referendum on voting reform was "you are too stupid, you won't be able to undertand it" and they won, I wish it was but the independance referendum will go the same way the nation will be cowed into submision using fear.

If I thought the country had the admin skills and financial pot to stand the expense and organisation of the whole thing to start off with, then the resources and inherent fiscal generation to keep it going, I'd say give it a whirl. But they don't, and organising a currency (your own or someone else's, with or without their agreement), is yet another costly PITA and is not exactly the last word in stability going forward. I'd rather not have to slow down for a border crossing on the M74 anyway
So yes - Campbell - get us the Drognas down here too, they sound nice.

The problem is the majority of people of Scotland do not work and have no intention of working. I know this to be true, I know this and I asked Alex and he agreed much work needed to be done back in 2009.

I do not have them to hand but quoted the Glasgow stats to him which were skewed as those claiming injury which prevented them working were not included in official unemployment figures.
Don't get me wrong, I am 100% supportive of those with injuries or illnesses which prevent them from working, we just happen to have a nation who work as hard as possible to make sure they do not have to go to work.
I sound like a Daily Mail reader now don't I ?
