Hmmmm, the wife is talking me out of it, and I am now somewhere in the middle, and Ed is bending my ear with stories of wanting to do Caterham Academy with another member on here.....

Who knows, to be honest i think dlogan and Lazydonkey are right, if i dont like it i can sell it (however this is the part that concerns me!) and move on to something else!!

Caterham 7 Superlight. Genuine LTD Edition (Number 77 8) ) with a few nice engine goodies. About 170-180bhp, and around 480-500kgs.

I am still a track novice, only been on track 3 times with it, but even with me pedalling, its plenty quick.

Just thinking out loud here Dave, but given that we are heading into winter would you not be better saving your pennies and getting whatever it is you really want in the spring?

Mac, thank you some out loud thinking and very true, this is what is killing me.... if i buy now i get a good price, he is eager to sell as has his eye on a TVR Chimera 5.0, but wife wont let him have both so she has said sell the Westy first. However i won tget to drive it more than if i am relaistic 4 or 5 times between Nov to Feb!

However come spring prices creep up and interest from end of Jan really comes into play as i found out with the VX. Could have sold it 5 times over, but between middle of Dec and end of Jan calls we sparse!

Anyway, I have a new idea, which may please myself and the other half, so bottle of wine is chilling in the fridge, i am rehersing my best swiss tony lines, and i have sprinkled flowers on the bed.... she will not resist!!!

I have not written the idea of the Westy off and have promised the seller a call by tomorrow, but this other idea may pay off! It might also envolve Mandy's car.

Then again, there is always your option Mac of hanging fire, but my track record of buying in the winter has always paid off, errr not to mention buying at trade price! Anyway it may all come to nothing, but i hope not!

Thanks for everyones input!

Dave

Dave,

I'm in a similar boat - it's a very good time to buy caterhams (end of racing season and coming into winter) but not the greatest time of the year for folk wanting to buy elises.

I too had my eye on something but need to sell to buy. That's all but dead in the waters so I'm no longer going for the hard sale and if it takes till spring then it takes till spring.

My big problems is I need to learn to sell before I look - it's a lot less heartache that way :D

Was it shakespear that said "to thy heart be true?" Hope what every you go for is the right solution for you.

Mac, it might help if you put a proper ad in the classifieds section, it's not exactly easy to find as it is!
