Yup. Recalled today and they've given him a 320D
at the 320D...not the problem

I fully understand mechanical sympathy - if they could speak, my Alfas, Jensen and 2CV would testify to that.
There is a known design fault with 996 & 997gen1 engines which manifests itself most frequently in 3.8 motors.
I just think the cost cutting which led to this failure taints the Porsche brand for me.

There was a manufactures survey last year on engines only, Toyota came 2nd, most of the Germans were 40,50 something, Rover came last, sorry but it did.
