I just wrote a huge post and lost in.... Effing phone.

Anyway, 335/petrol or diseasel are not going to tick the boxes i don't think, nir would the m3 as that's not much different to the porker in terms if price, performance maybe a bit worse on fuel

Gt86 as you said too much money but i like the idea of it!

M135 is good, really good, but proper pug ugly

New cayman is sex on wheels,

What about a 370z or wait for the new M4 or M435 or M235?

Luke has his eye on this and asked me to check out Insurance for him.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

The car he could buy no problem, but insurance is seismic. I can not believe the money that he is being paid from Shell on top of a salary that is more than I got as a Senior Captain Pilot. He can do an extra week offshore at £500/day bonus, or do courses when he is back on his time off in Aberdeen at the same rate, plus being put up in the Malmaison Hotel with all meals paid for.

I can not afford to eat there so went as his guest for a £65 steak. The gimmick seems to be that you can choose your steak from a row of well hung joints and order by weight or thickness and thus pay twice as much as it would be off the menu, as of course bigger is better.

Good for him, but leaves school at 16, does an apprenticeship, and he is getting all of this on his first job, plus being able to buy his own house at 20. And Britain is in a slump?

I don't need to sell the car just now tbh.

Just frustrating not being able to think of a decent replacement for it.

Figure I'll get some of the wee niggles sorted on it that are only worth doing if I'm keeping it for a while. Probably wouldn't bother anyone else, but to me they're essential!

Need to scratch the M3 itch at some point, but now now. Fancy an XKR too.. but not old enough for that yet..

Couldn't you just get it wrapped in a slightly different shade of silver so that it stands out from all the others. Will then just be like a new car!!

There's no better all rounder than a 911 for £20k.

Anything else is simply more extreme in one area and at the same time worse in other areas because of this.

As a balance, you can't beat a 911.

That's actually really tempting. Don't know much about them other than Pete wishes he still had one ;-)

Guessing they might be a tad expensive to run if you're doing over 10k pa though?!?!?

other than fuel consumption 18-20mpg - its an epic car. So usable, and effortless to own.

I love using ours - what i use most apart from the BM :thumbsup
