Silly biker.
Re: Silly biker.
Absolute bellend that gives us a bad name... I've not been able to look anywhere on the net over the past couple of days without seeing this.
Even bigger idiot that he actually posted the video himself - there's no safety advice in there, other than learn to ride a bike before pinning it at every opportunity - he was barely leant over and could have made the corner easily on his own side of the road if he'd not panicked. If I'd been that incompetent and survived, you can bet your arse the footage would have disappeared in embarrassment...

Silly biker.
Ditto - plain bad riding, lack of brains and ability caused that.
I've ridden that road many times, it's pretty short and not a lot to it. Anyone that rides a bike on Scotland's fantastic roads would wonder what all the fuss is about the Cat & Fiddle. To put it in perspective, the road from EK to Strathaven is better IMHO.
The Cat & Fiddle is not a 'dangerous' road at all, it's just nuggets like that guy that get it a bad name.
Bet the guy he just overtook at the double whites was pissing himself.

Absolute Bellend, is a bit harsh but just plain inexperience, we've all made mistakes/errors of judgement when starting out, haven't we. He could've made that corner relatively easily as you say Shug but did well to avoid the car or it would've been a lot worse. Youngsters just bounce so he'll be fine.
I guess in the modern age of living your life on the net, it's normal for him to post the vid, not what I'd do but hey ho.

I'm sure they will be if they've not already been.BiggestNizzy wrote:I'm suprised the police haven't been round for a word.
Re: Silly biker.
I know what you're saying mate, but unfortunately his inexperience has been plastered across every news outlet and the average joe yet again sees biker=dangerous. I don't think he did well either, he was just lucky - his route to the hedge was determined when he bailed on the corner, long before the car came into view. So the margin between him posting a "sh*t, did you see that" video and killing the occupants of the car was dumb luck.BigD wrote:Absolute Bellend, is a bit harsh but just plain inexperience, we've all made mistakes/errors of judgement when starting out, haven't we. Millions of vids of excellent riding on the web, but it's the near catastrophe of a tool who's ambition outweighs his talent that's getting the publicity, yet again...

We have probably all crossed double white lines on the straight when it is safe to do so, especially on those stretches where they go on for ages and do not have a break even when it is safe to do so, but on a bend like that it could have been suicide.

I'm nearly speechless....that the biker,Jack I think it was, posted that on the net and secondly that he hasn't been charged with a motoring offence....could be pending of course.
Re: Silly biker.
stroll on. ill refrain from slagging him off as i know how easy it is to bottle it and sit the bike up. i tend to take a 'slow in, fast out' approach now as i find it very difficult to override my panic induced, fighter pilot like reactions which are usually counter productive!

Sounds like me in a car... especially when I don't know the road.Dipper wrote: i tend to take a 'slow in, fast out' approach now as i find it very difficult to override my panic induced, fighter pilot like reactions which are usually counter productive!

Re: Silly biker.
My MX5 never gave me the option of slow in, fast out.

Re: Silly biker.
At least he had the presence of mind to go off road rather than head on
he was never going to get round from his positioning and lean angle and posting it for the world to see simply demonstrates his stupidity.
