2014 SMRC Knockhill - Race 3+4 Pre race chat
Re: 2014 SMRC Knockhill - Race 1 and 2 write up
Great results, and great write up, thanks!
Re: 2014 SMRC Knockhill - Race 1 and 2 write up
Good job, Clark. James was chuffed to meet a real racing driver...apologies for his cries of "bored" barely 2 mins into our post-race chat
Thoroughly enjoyed our day of club racing and always cool to cheer on someone you know.
James chose the hairpin shed as preferred viewing point...apparently most sliding there...probably right! Legends did plenty there, as did the classic sports saloons.
Giving serious thought to a family ticket for Touring Cars in Aug...we'll see...
Good photography, BTW.

Well done mate, great read and best of luck with the rest of the season.
I did have a good chuckle at the winch part. Sounds very much like something I would do

Re: 2014 SMRC Knockhill - Post race 3+4 update
Good Afternoon all,
I thought it was probably time for a wee update ahead of rounds 3+4 (this sunday at KH if anyone fancies popping up to spectate!
)
So i got news today that the Diff has been completly rebuilt after our round 1+2 issues FOC by JC racing as one of the plates disintegrated, not their fault our mine - just a flaw in the plate as far as i can understand, so they have been great, it arrived with them on monday AM and they have it boxed up waiting for Fedex to collect at 3PM today - looks like friday nigth will be spent getting it back in the car and all the bolts checked, but we are good to go for this weekend!
last week myself and the cars owner signed up to a new workshop, it is ideal for the racecar work and all the other stuff that we do in between - as a boost Flyingscott68 is able to work out of there and get his camper completed sharing the cost.

Outsode of the actual car prep things ahve been interesting - championship points have been wrongly published, race results are no longer clear due to mistakes made in car classes etc and i am 5 points short on the championship standings until it is sorted out, oh and i am still short of a class win trophy! - needless to say i am not too happy about this and so far i have had little response (i mean none at all) to my emails to the race organisers, however, our drivers rep - Mark Dawson has been magic in trying to liase and sort these problems out,
The entry list has been published for this weekend and again it looks like a busy grid with my class (B1) looking very interesting, ther are still questions over elegibility with a car in my class, which i am hoping is resolved ahead of qaully - if it is not i might be forced to re-consider the seasons racing, but for now I am in and raring to go!
Finally - if any of you are not currently following my facebook or twitter pages - get on it

Re: 2014 SMRC Knockhill - Race 3+4 Pre race chat
Good luck this weekend!
Your fan club won't be in attendance, sadly, as we are off for a short break at Silloth.
Looking forward to the reports. Will track down your Twitter feed presently

I assume, like most forms of club motorsport, they are struggling to attract competitors? That's hardly going to help. I suggest a polite, sincere and strongly worded email to the club chairman may be called for.

Re: 2014 SMRC Knockhill - Race 3+4 Pre race chat
Morning all,
Great pics
realy like the mirrored one you posted on the racing page
Regarding the class structure etc.. it has been 'decided' by the SMRC and MSA upon reciept of a letter on SEAT headed paper that the car is eligible, even though it has adjustable aero, composite wings, a flat floor and was never a road car. the desicion has been made and we are all going to (however unfairly) deal with it.
Dom - my correspondance has bene with Heather and Greame brunton who basically run the SMRC at a knockhill level - i dont want to rock the boat too much here as i have already done so a fair bit and its getting noticed.... :shock
i will get a proper write up on the go soon, but i finished 2nd in class for both races and to be honest thats the closest racing i have ever had - this bit of new competition i have could turn out to be a good thing, in race 2 my fastest lap was .030 of a second faster than the SEAT's fastest lap - so i can beat him, i just need to get faster!
the 1st 4 laps of race one i was ahead of the SEAT (with alot of changing position between us) and until my tyres went off i think i could have stayed ahead - just need to try less and drive faster!
Great pics
