NLC: Unusual Spots
Re: NLC: Unusual Spots
Couple of AH-64 -D Apache Longbows flew over the house at low level yesterday as part of a NATO exercise Operation Joint Warrior. Was an amazing sight, have never seen them in the flesh. One landed in a field near Maryclulter i believe.

At least 10 other choppers , chinooks / 5x CH-53s together as well. Awesome display of force. Though at one point an invasion was on !

Re: NLC: Unusual Spots
Renault 20 brings back a few memories for me. I had one after I passed my test, was a great car in it's day.

Ireland - I was on my way back from Dublin Airport on Sunday, and spotted "CAR SHOW" signs, so had a look.rossybee wrote:
Where are all the ZV plates based?
When you import a car to Ireland that's over 30 years old, you get the option of an age related plate (i.e 83 D **** for a 1983 car first registered in Dublin), or you can opt for a black ZV plate.
Re: NLC: Unusual Spots
Yesterday, whilst heading out of abz, a 14 plate Audi Q7 in that odd flat shade of orange you occasionally see S3s and older TTs in. Was minging.
This morning, in Dundee, seen it before a few times, a Saab 9-2x
Without googling, does anyone know what it's based on? Clue is it's a left-hooker so obviously an import. Looks sh*t btw.

Bingo Dom
It's a 2004 Impreza with a Saab nose, 2.5 NA flat four
Also in the states you get a 9-7x, which is a big SUV based on the Chevy Blazer and equivalent Buick /Oldsmobile etc crap.
IIRC there was a 9-6x too based on the Subaru tribeca but never made production...

Re: NLC: Unusual Spots
[quote="Fluoxetine"]Spotted yesterday...
Fiat 128?

Dad had two of these, of a later vintage. As a kid, I loved it - the second was in the equivalent of Krypton Green. We travelled (as a family) to Italy and stayed for a month. Imagine full luggage for four for a month, alpine passes (San Gottard) and 40degC heat in the south (no aircon back then, but cloth seats). 80mph and 4500rpm all the way !

Re: NLC: Unusual Spots
Real Americana day for me today. Late model Ford Thunderbird like this:

Maybe take back my last post's statement as think a little bit of sick entered my mouth when I saw it.

Exactly the thought that crossed my mind, one can only hope that it's good to drive, because you absolutely want to be on the inside looking out and not the other way arounddouglasgdmw wrote:Maybe take back my last post's statement as think a little bit of sick entered my mouth when I saw it.

On a lighter note, today I saw MY ELISE on the road, now that is an unusual spot!

You should see the price of 456's, if you can afford the running costs then ideal Ferrari mile muncher.

However would rather have a 550/575 as they look a bit cooler.
