S1 bonnet catching

Post by jimbo » Sat Jun 21, 2014 7:35 pm

The bonnet of my S1 always catches on it's trailing edge where it meets the front clam, the point just above the hinge. Is this something that is always going to happen or is it an alignment problem? There's no paint left on either surface where they meet so before I sort that I want to sort the actual issue.

Thanks

James

Probably an alignment issue by the sounds of it. You can loosen the nuts on the hinge (3 IIRC) and gently move the bonnet to suit. One word of warning; make sure the latch is aligning nicely, otherwise it can be a pain to get open again.

Just checked mine, it has a panel gap of about 7-8mm all the way around between the clam and bonnet. HTH.
