Edinburgh newbie and first Lotus

Post by Mellow Yellow » Tue Jul 01, 2014 12:04 pm

Hey all

Just bought my first Lotus and was directed over to the forum
By Andy Ward. Nice to see there is such a community amongst the owners in Scotland and I'll
definitely be looking to come along to any events. I'm a keen racer (off the public roads of course) and will no doubt need some help here and there keeping my new pride and joy running sweet! It's a 2002 Elise Sports Tourer in Lightning Yellow.

Picked her up from down south from an enthusiast who was a tad sad to let her go!

Andy

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yeah spot on, Edinburgh haha. Shug, I used to do hot hatch at knockhill about 12 years ago but more recently karting. 2 stroke and 4 stroke mainly at Crail. Have to say in the limited mileage I've done in the Elise I can confirm the "go-kart" feel with the very positive steering which is fantastic to feel in a road car! Hopefully I'll get myself to a few track days as the kart unfortunately had to go to fund the car :/

Are there any Lotus days at Knockhill? Too many bandits at HH to risk taking it to one of those...

Yup - keep eyeballs on Trackday forum here. http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=6

All the days that get posted up there tend to be used by some of the guys and have a good driving standards. SIDC is the one people always point out first, as there's a long history of SE attendees on the really well-run SIDC days. Although, like I say, every organiser that uses the TD forum seems to get good reviews now.
