Just sent one of my guys out to pick up mcflurries.

Now to figure out what else to do for the next 90 mins before I head out for the massage I've just booked.

Boredom is more expensive than I thought!

Hmmmm...

Here was me thinking there would be a flurry of suggestions for decent flying related jobs that were not impossible to get

But there has to be something more fun than sitting at a desk all day that still pays a decent salary and is achievable within a not ridiculous training timescale?! I've heard rumours that some people actually enjoy their jobs... what do they do!??!

Any suggestions other than trolly dolly?

Not ready to admit defeat and resign myself to the fact I'll probably be stuck at a desk all day forever and ever and ever and ever....

In the meantime, i'll continue to distract myself with Evora browsing.... I'm definitely not IFA material!! :blackeye

I would have happily advised you on getting into flying Dave, but believe me it is not possible to get into a Commercial position which would pay you a decent salary nowadays.

You would need to start off with a big stack of cash to begin with, make it a lot bigger as you progressed through your licences, then somehow get in a lot of hours before you would even be considered at being taken on as a trainee co-pilot. For a civilian there used to be the chance of going through with one of the Airlines on their own sponsored courses, but even then it was for the creme de la creme. Those have now finished, so the only chance is unless you are going to pay for the lot yourself, you need to come out of the Forces with a lot of hours and an ATPL, then work yourself up as a sprog third pilot to Captain in 20 years.

Times have changed, in '77 I went straight in as a Captain after leaving Oman, but that is now referred to as the good old days.

Dave - what do you want to do?

I'm not sure there are many jobs that pay exceptionally well and are a magic fun all the time - some sound that way though.

I'll probably end up doing what I'm already doing in reality.

Just think it's good to take a step back every once in a while and see if there are other options that I may not know about or have considered etc.

I like cars and planes and bikes... So would be fun to do something that involved them.

Just the annual brain fart. One day I'll find the magic job maybe!!!

What is it you do now ?
Think anything over time becomes less enjoyable so you need to find 2 really different type jobs which you can switch between. :)

Have some kids. That'll give you something to take your mind off your current troubles.

Cannae disagree with that - smacks of someone with too much time on their hands.
