Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
I'm still up for parking my Elise in the middle. I've been asked to be Chief Scrutineer for the BTCC Meeting, so I'll be there all day.

I'm still up for this (24. Andrew on earlier list).
Any further news on getting required car sticker?
I wouldn't care to be refused entry at 07:30 as a "Lotus just turning up on the day"

Re: BTCC, Jim Clark & S_E
I asked Stuart Grey last week when i was at a tracknight, and the BTCC need the space in the middle of the track for there hospitality, so it is no longer on. He did tell me that there there will be a display along with MMC, as Brandon is looking to have as full a model line up of Lotus new and old , as he can get, ( I think). Also, there will be a drive over the forth road bridge to celibrate Jim Clark with lotus models, and many of his cars.

Can we get confirmation Stu that Knockhill are not now going with the plan of the Lotus cars on display in the centre of the track I know a few who were up for this through Club Lotus . The event crossing the bridge is only for the cars that a linked to J C with the rest to be on show in the car park.

Morning all I now have it confirmed that there will be no Lotus display at the BTCC at Knockhill and if you are attending the recommendation is to travel in a standard car as car park is now not suitable for a Low Lotus.

That rules us out
It's the Lotus or nothing for us.
Glad I hadn't ordered tickets yet.
I am astounded that KH cannot accommodate parking for sports cars. Do they not think that people who enjoy watching motorsports may also drive sports cars?

Parking at KH had always been ropey at best, especially on touring car days. Are they even still doing in circuit passing? The park and ride from a local field probably isn't the best for a low car..

All parking at-circuit now, I believe. More hard-standing laid...but plenty potholes, I expect

Best thing is to get there early. Parking is always tight at BTCC. I'll probably take the MINI up over the weekend rather than the Elise.

Someone very kindly bought me a VIP Hospitality Ticket for the BTCC as it is my birthday the 24th.
Anyone done same in the past? What can I expect? Will I be able to get close to the machinery at any point?

I have been to quite a few of these things in the past at KH. Can vary quite a bit depending who is running your hospitality. I would at least expect a marquee for snacking and lunching in - possibly one with a decent view of the track - although I always reckon you are best to view from various places around the track (top of Duffus one of my fav spots). You should (from my past experience) get a parking pass too, so you can park at the track and not need to use the park and ride service. I have never had access to the teams, but at KH you can wonder about quite freely anyway. In the past I have watched the race from the balcony at the circuit office with Sir Jackie Stewart, and dined with Sir Stirling Moss at the next table - depends who your hosts are though!martins wrote:Someone very kindly bought me a VIP Hospitality Ticket for the BTCC as it is my birthday the 24th.
