<Sighs deeply>
I read that suggestion on another forum (after go ogling spark plug no gap). On reflection I agree with you guys - it's nonsense.
I've been struggling to get my (calm yourself shug) rubber lined plug socket tool off.
The bit of rubber tube solution is inspired and I shall fabricate such a sheath tomorrow.
Might just try replacing the plugs again and see what happens.

No compression on number 1. It has, perhaps, thrown a valve - further investigation to follow tomorrow...
Anyone got a spare engine they want to sell me? Where's that King K chap gone to?

Sell you a VX220, faster than your 135R even without sticky tyres and expensive suspension?

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

1. You are misremembering events.
2. Of course it is faster. It goes.

(Although I'm broke, so that's not really an issue)

What bit of the engine is damaged? Head or bottom end?

Ah now you are getting technical. Need to speak to the garage on Monday and see if they have any more news...

I might have just the engine for you ... especially if your cylinder head is repairable!
Cheers,
Robin
