Ferry sounds good for the start of the Frolic to me. A time to catch up and enjoy the start of the banter and a few beers. We will probably take the Calais to Dover route or Chunnel on the way back home instead of the long ferry. It's never good having the long drive back up north from Dover.

Steve.

Makes sense for NE SE to cut the drive at Newcastle, certainly

I think Robin's Jedi Mind Tricks may be having an effect on me.

Just remember if you get the ferry back that drinking in the bar until it closes means you only get a couple hours sleep before you have to drive again. They don't seem keen on letting you have a long lie at the port if you're still a bit tipsy.

Ooops.

No Charade which would have been awesome but Paul Ricard. :thumbsup
Also seems planned for designated 'lie in' days! :damnfunny

Chop chop on the car transporter option to Orange Andy. :)

We confirmed the final dates and circuits for Frolic last week.

In the end we weren’t able to get a noisy day at Charade – things have changes since we last visited and our only chance was for them to give up one of a small number of race dates which was always going to be difficult.

So in the end we have a trip entirely to the south.

Sunday night – Saturday – the full 6 nights will be spent at the IBIS in Orange that the vast majority of you have stayed at before. Great town with some amazing roads and fantastic tourist sites nearby and of course a pool and very friendly Lotus owners.

Circuits –
Monday – we’ve been extremely lucky and have a late afternoon/evening session on the full Paul Ricard circuit. As most of you are aware this is an extremely expensive circuit and one that we always though was out of our reach. So getting 3 hours minimum is fantastic news – it blows our budget but one of the few circuits left to tick off. As we’ll starting there late afternoon we’ll head to the nearby coast in the morning and have a good day there.

Wednesday – back to Le Luc

Friday – Ledennon – needs no explanation.

The main feedback from this year was that you didn’t want 2 back to back tracks so this has worked perfectly and I think will be one of the most social trips we’ve done for years with the one central base, 3 great tracks all spread out.

We’ll be working on a full pack of things to do and coming up with some ideas over the winter but I thought you’d appreciate the early confirmation of where you will be.

Tres jolie.

And a late start Monday means I'm now considering an Iddon Stylee 3am standing start from Ecosse. Overnight through UK to Le Shuttle, and at Orange in time for siesta.

What do people think to that?

Definitely still an option for me but I would probably prefer a stopover at Dover and an early morning shuttle to France. So leave Saturday mid morning rather than Sunday at 3am. Stop at Ashford travel lodge or similar then early over to France and drive down taking it easy with stops every 3ish hours. Did that a couple of years ago and I was much more refreshed than I was doing it in one day. I just get it in my head that I am going to stop for an hour ever 3 and factor that into the timings. :thumbsup
