New 111s owner

Post by van cleef » Tue Nov 04, 2014 8:11 am

I've just picked up my new to me 53 plate 111s and I've already identified a few problems which needs seeing to.

New to the car, is there any elise specialists within the Aberdeenshire area who could give my car a good once over to make me aware of anything else that might need addressed.

Welcome to SE :-)

I'm sure one of the many Elise owners in ABZ will be along to help you out with your question soon.

The majority of NE owners still use Murray's in Edinburgh, main dealer. The service is so good it's worth the hassle of traveling down and either waiting or catching the train back up/down.
Failing that then there is Ricky Gauld at Huntly or JD in Inch.

Welcome to SE. If you do decide to bring it down to Murrays it is worth posting on here first to see if anyone else is doing the same thing either side of your journey - there is often scope for shuttling cars back and forth and thus saving on the trains or sharing fuel.

Cheers,
Robin

I would echo what the other said about MMC, service you can't fault at a price that will better most independents, plus you get main dealer stamps and can often get them to fit your own upgrade parts.

Murrays is to far with the little time I have at the moment... I was hoping to keep it local for now and I'll probably use them further down the line.

There's a rattle coming from the engine at the drivers side which I'm wanting investigated before I drive it any further. I've only picked the car up at the weekend and I'm struggling to find time to look Into it.

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. :D

I haven't any decent pics as yet.

Yep everything worked out well but the car after getting an inspection, it has a wee list to get through to get it up to standard.
The list is

New tyres
Part of the exhaust (split) needs replacing
New brake pads
New front indicator bulbs at the front which are currently white with age.

There is a ticking sound coming from the head which my mechanic thinks could be a sticking tappet, but he doesn't seem to concerned.

It was the black one advertised on PH and eBay and I got for a bit of a steal.

I haven't driven it a lot yet but I'm loving it so far.
