Classic quote from Guy..........

Guy Martin on: speeding on public roads.

“I love risking my life, but to get the buzz on a bike on public roads I’d need to be doing 180mph. You can’t, and I wouldn’t want to. I’ve got 21 points on my licence. I just keep getting caught in the van. I was in court recently. The judge asked me if it would affect my living if I couldn’t drive. I said, ‘I race motorbikes, I race mountain bikes and I go to work, and if I can’t drive, I can’t do any of them.’ He gave me three points and let me keep my licence.”

The reason I need an estate car is we have a very anxious dog. He doesn't like going in the van very much but we are getting there with getting him into Lindsay van and I hoped the an estate car would help. He is very sensitive to noises especially gun shot and fireworks, he totally hates the sound of the guy next doors WRX so you very nice scooby is out. But I do like that apart from the cream leather.

Scotty,

We had exactly the same situation with Star when we had the Clio RS. We put it down to the fact that the cup chassis was too hard for him in the back (sure Renault chassis developers had an S&M obsession)

When we got the BMW tourer he loved it in Comfort mode then a trip to the dales with maybe a little bit too spirited driving put him off again.

Just saying a new car may help but you may have to be "Driving miss daisy" with any driving.

Also heard that a calming spray also helps them as well so maybe also worth a try.

Scotty, have you had the dog in the boot from puppy?

Our Harvey (springer) hated my RS6 (shat in it more than once) which i thought was my occasional heavy right foot, but someone told me a more compact space is less intimidating for a pooch. My current Volvo estate is more compact, and he jumps in as soon as the boot's opened, might be a familiarity thing, but perhaps nothing too big would be your answer, or as others mentioned, a boot crate. Note - we've never used a crate on the boot.

Would struggle to see post the 335i tbh, but actually quite like the new Octavia vrs... Should have more space in the boot too.

Fingers crossed Subaru will bring the new Levorg estate to the UK next year. 2.0 litre direct injection turbo, all wheel drive, 300bp, 300lbft for about £30k. Job done! :thumbsup

The main concern is if they will offer a manual gearbox, the Japanese version currently only comes with 'Lineartronic' which is basically a switchable CVT.
