Yet another stupid question (spare connectors in engine bay)

Post by jammacdo » Tue Dec 30, 2014 10:47 pm

Sorry for another dumb question. At least the answers wont be dumb :)

Whilst wrestling with the rear pipe connecting to the thermostat housing (to install the remote thermostat kit) I had to remove some wiring connectors and zip ties etc.

I carefully labelled the connectors and put them back but I seem to have two "spare ones" :)

I've looked VERY carefully and cannot see where they go. One is a two wire connector that looks exactly like the one connected to the throttle position sensor (black with wire around it to secure it on) The other is a whitish/cream coloured push on three wire connector. They both come out of the loom connected to the ECU and appear just under the throttle body. They aren't long enough to connect to any existing sensor that I can find.

I have gone over the list of all engine management inputs as listed in the Service Manual and they are all present and correct so I can only assume they were like that before I started messing about. Is this normal????

I've not put the coolant in yet so haven't started the engine so cant read any error codes that may or may not be triggered by the above not being connected.

Told you it was a stupid question :)

You have no idea how long I spent looking for the sensor to connect these to

Not stupid, there are connectors that do not connect, but that could well be just on my Honda.

Someone will sort it out for you.

They don't go anywhere. Think it's a hangover from the MGF engine loom?

Damn, wish I had ignored them before quite a lot of searching. Good to know though, thanks guys. :)

Engine runs, no Engine Management errors. Nice :)
