Just replaced the gearbox oil (replacing the factory standard stuff) Feeling quite pleased with myself really
Question. I got just under 2 litres of oil out but I managed to put 2.6 litres in before it started coming back out the fill hole just above the drain hole.
Is that normal? If it is then there is more in now than before. Havent had a chance to run the car (have you seen the weather tonight?!)) but sitting in the car the gearchange does sound more "thunk" than "clink"

You can not really go wrong if you fill it until it starts to run out, I don't think that you can overfill.
Sounds as though it was not full when you drained it.

Thanks Tut
There was no leaks so maybe as you say wasnt brimmed. Seems quieter now but then youd expect that. Just need to wait till it stops snowing and I'll try it out

Presuming the car was level when you refilled it

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

I remember needing 3x 1litre bottles to fill mine.
