Was doing an MTB race near Strathpeffer at the weekend and got to test out my M+S Kleber Krisalp tyres on a fully loaded VW T5.
I was really impressed as I managed to get 1.5 miles up a 10 to 15% forest track that was hard packed snow and ice no problem, I saw at least 2 vans that had ended up in ditches.

i picked up a set of almost brand spanking new kumho winters for my forester from gumtree, nearly 8mm of tread, 180 quid!

will get them on the car this week and see how they are, in fairness, the forester doesn't really need it, but i could resist the price, that and the fact i had a bump in claires car on sheet ice with normal conti cross contact tyres, so as far as I'm concerned its winters from now on for me.

Yeah the Strathpuffer, we got 3rd place in the male Quads, so don't feel the need to go back next year.

Well I'm not too far from the Silvery Tay, just up from the airport, but if some of today's school run cars were anything to go by inland is far worse...possibly higher ground nearer downfield/St Marys.
