Had a youngish couple around on Thursday who have five children who wanted to buy it on the spot. He is having his house renovated in Peterhead to sell it, but is getting a mortgage if he buys TT. Funny situation as the house has not gone live with McEwans yet, he saw it on HouseSimple, but the photos have been taken, we have approved the schedule for printing, so it will be on this weekend. We have paid the upfront fees so we could cancel with them and not pay commission etc for the sale, but I will go ahead and let them handle it and see if they can bringing further interest, as that would be a new ball game.

The buyer has just asked if he can come around again tomorrow with his family, and has offered me the asking price of £495K as he went straight off and arranged a Mortgage, so I will now let McEwans handle it. It should not matter to me who buys it, but they loved the house, did not want to change anything, and would probably buy the furniture as well, so I would like to see them get it. They are off on Holiday tomorrow, so that gives a couple of weeks to see if McEwans handling it along with HouseSimple generate any interest.

Ian's house went live with McEwans yesterday and he has two viewings this evening, two on Sunday, and one on Monday already, so it will sell straight away at £20K more than I thought it was worth. 60% increase in two years for a three bedroom terraced.

Big change, my sister in law just paid 300k for similar house but had a nice cool 7acres of forestry attached between methlick and fyvie.

What do you want from your new pad?

Couple of lovely looking homes there tut.
Get the second one and stock it with trout. A nice wee earner (discount for SE though) :thumbsup

3 or 4 beds, good sized master, on its own, no nearby houses, some space around to fence in for the dogs, good showers and bathroom, big lounge, sunroom or conservatory, decent kitchen, bright with big windows, double garage, other outbuildings a bonus, decent energy rating, easily maintainable, around the £270K mark, will know it when I see it, preferably within 30 miles of Old Deer.

Cornhill needs a bigger jacuzzi. Workshop will be handy for SE NE HQ spannering. And clearly loads of off street parking for resurrection of TT parties.

Impressed at what you can get for your money in the stix.

Both look good and still decent size with lots of space round about you. The one next to the water might actually be a bit close to the water? , insurers probably won't like it

Bloody Aberdeen property prices - Reading the above prompted me to check up on my old flat in Aberdeen...It was only a 1 bed, but city centre in an interesting building (the old Post Office in Crown Street), had underground parking and a sauna / gym in the basement (a few of the longer term SE'er's have visited it).

I paid £80k off plan in 2001

Sold it in 2005 for £105k

They sold in 2007 for £150k

Zoopla reckon it's now worth around £215k / would rent around £1100 pcm

Rather wish I'd kept a hold of it and leased it now...

Both properties look stunning tut, I wish there was that choice around me. Love the one with the workshop, although the other has plenty of room to build one too. :)

I thought everybody in Aberdeen was affected by the "recession" that has just hit the oil industry?
