Remember thats its only £4K if you are not a spannermonkey..... the system (component parts) themselves are significantly cheaper but I dont have the ability (or time and tools) to fit. At a push I might have been able to do the back box, but I certainly couldnt have installed the manifolds.

It looks like you did the install yourself?.... and I really wish I was skilled like that - I would have prefered the additional cash in my pocket too.... but thats just the joys!

Given the car is brand new I wouldnt have felt comfortable giving it to a local garage either.... so in that respect MMC had me by the short and curlies... but I was happy to hand over the car to Craig for them to work their magic 8)
Had you have gone to a local garage they would have taken much longer to fit the exhaust. Gary (MMC) has had a lot of practice and knows the knack of fitting the system to the car. Other places have taken much longer to fit the system to the car, I think Lotus Silverstone took 2 days to fit just the manifolds on the Evora S - no idea why though.
Because if you haven't done one before and have no idea how it comes apart then the forward manifold is extremely difficult to get off/on again. I only knew about the inspection hatch in the rear bulk head because I had the entire interior out of my car when I did the stereo upgrade otherwise we would have been convinced it was an engine out job to change the exhaust.

Good thread this. Not relevant to me, but I have gone from "Hahaha, £4k?? You must be mad!" to "That seems like an excellent purchase"

Er. Right. That is extremely naughty.

Impressed.

Can you add a mic to your rear-view-camera and feed it back through your stereo!!

Have to say that does sound good but still wouldn't make me part with £4 k - at least I don't think so, well not this month, well maybe....

Seriously I would want to hear how it sounds from the driving seat and how intrusive it was if your not on it and just wanting to bumble along. :?

I saw my Evora more as a GT car than an out and out sports car. Yes it handles superbly but it isn't as nimble as an Elise or Exige nor as much fun on a back road either IMHO. With a 2bular on it sounded great and loud even when you didn't want it to. And that was with the by-pass closed. Even though mine was NA we figured out a way to fit a valve to the exhaust but it was still loud with it closed which for long cruising, motorways/A roads became a pain.

Just fior the record the best sound was with the manifolds and link pipe connected to the Lotus Sports back box with all the packing blown out of it

I have decat and Lotus sports exhaust on my NA & I'm quite happy with that for how it sounds when pressing on and blipping the throttle on downshifts, especially in sport mode and how unobtrusive it is in Miss Daisy mode ( & it leaves £4k in the bank :thumbsup )

In which case really the only thing you 'need' :) from 2bular is the manifolds and you're all set.

For some bizarre reason this was limited just to the NA. the same setup on the supercharger was actually quiet.

I agree... Despite the video it's actually VERY civilised at cruising speeds - I can still have a conversation with passengers or chat to the missus on my hands free or listen to the Archers :-)
