Thanks, Steve.

I am unsure how much camping gear we can squeeze into the Evora...once the kids are installed in the back, there really is very little room left! The boot is "practical, for a Lotus" but once the family tent's in there, and a few clothes, I doubt we'd manage much else!

So Lisa's vision is indeed to bring both cars. On that basis, we'd be fine. But you'll note we're asking for a Pod for the Arran Campaganza...got to start gently.

UJI remains a long term hold if at all possible.

As for Frolic...weapon TBD but Evora appears to be the thinking man's choice.

There was a time when S2s appeared to be the dominant force at some outings. Is the same starting to happen with Evoras?!

Thanks, Nizzy. In reality, running my small company is no more financially rewarding than the income I took from "regular" employment at Logica. In fact sorting out a finance deal for the car...and making changes to our mortgage last year (not related!) actually proved massively more challenging.

So in many ways, the thread title is extremely poignant.

But the deciding factor was almost certainly the age (and size) of the kids right now. Were we to wait any longer, they simply wouldn't fit into an Evora. LazyDonkey's thorough review was perhaps a clincher, when he mentioned true practicality to fit his 9 and 11 yr old niece and nephew in the back.

The test drive certainly worked. The kids *claim* they will not fight with each other. Come to think of it, there is so little room left once they're in, that fighting will be all but ruled out anyway

And whilst no-one has a crystal ball, if Evora values remain as stable as they have for the last 2-3 years, it could genuinely prove to be one of the best value cars we've owned. It'll have to go some to beat the Skoda, mind you. But at least I can announce the arrival of the Evora free from public stoning and general vilification.

Nice one Campbell, cracking car :-)
Best car I've ever owned, I'm doing the Evoranomics in the hope of getting another one next year.
