Heaven's Doorstep.

Just bought it this afternoon with a handshake, the same as Tut Towers in '95. Ex RMP and copper, now on Government Security details around the world so not at home much. 6' 6" and built like a brick outhouse, but fortunately we bonded. On at £360K but he did not seem too interested in money, so accepted £335. All he is taking with him is his bed and the lounge rug, we can have anything else that we want for free otherwise it goes to the Red Cross. Nice piano so that will keep Clare happy. Problem is we have enough to fill the house twice over, so will have to work that out. Most of the furniture can go though.
Looks even better in the flesh than on the photos, bespoke build with his fourth and final wife in 2007, or so he thought, divorced six months later when it was valued at £500K, not sure what happened after that as it did not sell even when the price was reduced, suspect crap marketing and the long track from the main road, some of which is farm type track that at the moment I would be able to get the Elise along, but it is about to be resurfaced. Located at the top of sloping land, no other house or farm in sight, views to die for all along the valley onto the snow covered mountains. Total land is 12 acres, lawn and garden around the house, but then rough grazing land and trees with the top field bordering onto pine forest and all fenced, so absolutely ideal for the dogs. At present he leases some of it out to the farmer for sheep and horses so gets an income from that, and it keeps the grass clipped.
He is a GSD lover and bred them at one time and also trained them for others, so there are four large kennels there along with an aviary, although now he just has a lovely GSD bitch that greets you like a small version of Khan, so he did not manage to train that out of her.
The Geothermal heat pump providing underfloor heating is a real bonus. All the floors are oak planking and are underfloor heated, even including the two garages. As far as I can gather this provides free heating apart from the power to run the pump, the water is heated to 46-50 degs and if higher temp is required the immersion cylinder kicks in. The en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom is the best we have seen, apart from AndyG's of course, large semi circular power shower enclosure with one of these overhead rain heads. Also a further bathroom and shower room with the same type of showers.
Only thing missing from Three Acres is the large shed, but you can not have everything. However it is funny how things turn out, if the Solicitors had not fcuked up that sale between them yesterday, we would now be moving in there and probably quite contented, unless we had then seen this advertised and then been rather deflated. All along it was the best compromise that we had seen, which is not what we were hoping for.
Just have to tell BigD now who has managed to get the mortgage for me, but it should not make any difference as it is still the same amount of loan and was AIP by Hodge for a house that we had not yet bought.
However it is 40 miles from Old Deer so will have to see if that affects the removal.
