Is it possible to tighten NS radiator hose with clam on?

Post by jammacdo » Thu Feb 19, 2015 9:06 pm

I think I have a tiny leak where the hose connects to the radiator. You know, the one you cant get at through the service covers. Its the NS one towards the front of the car. Is this a clam off job?

Didnt seem to leak when I tested it before putting the clam on. But I appear to be loosing a little coolant. The OF hose clamp was loose a few weeks ago and of course I just nipped it up but I cant get to the other one. Can you see the hole in the radiator housing if I remove the NS indicator? Heres hoping!!!! :D

That's the hose with the bleed screw?

I don't know about an S2 Elise, but I managed to completely change that hose on a VX220 with the clam on, though the headlight had to come out.

Great thanks. I removed the indicator and managed to get into it. Nipped it up a bit. Will see how it goes. Interesting what you say about removing the hose with headlight removed. Might be needed if the leak doesn't stop.
