Doubt it, given the additional cooling they've added but if you want 400bhp in the current car the Komotec remap with get you close especially if you have something like a full 2bular exhaust already installed.Kelvin wrote: Given how they've achieved the 400bhp do you think it seems unlikely it will be offered as a kit for the current cars?

Re: Evora 400 first pictures
You cannot pigeon hole these kind of cars in the black and white fashion that has been suggested. Even within this thread, you have people saying you can't compare an Evora and a Cayman, then someone else saying the real life comparison for the Evora 400 is the Cayman GTS.
The bottom line is that the lines between an Elise, Boxster, Exige, Cayman, Evora and 911 are very blurred and there are huge overlaps.
So yes, you can directly compare any of the above because the chances are that the guy who's out there looking for something a bit flash and sporty but can't quite stretch to Ferrari/Lamborghini territory will be considering, at some point, all of the above. Especially as most are bought as 2nd/3rd/4th/5th cars.
Having 4 seats might swing something for someone. Having a cheap finance package might swing something for someone else (witness the success of the Lotus 50:50 package). Buying a used model and making a saving might swing it for someone else. Buying a new car for the same price as a used alternative might swing it for someone else. Better dealer backup and warranty might swing the decision for someone else. Better Evo mag review might swing it for the next guy.
Different strokes for different folks.
The clincher for me, if it were my money, is this. Lotus are low volume, hand built, and not without their idiosyncrasies and let's say quality control issues. I know things are better than the dark old days, but let's not kid ourselves here.
If I'm buying a £30k Elise as a weekend toy, I can put up with this. Hell, it's even part of the attraction. A £50k 2-11, so what if all the screws and fixings rust up within a couple of years, I expect that to happen, and I don't care.
But as soon as you start to talk about a £70k, £80k, £100k Lotus then these low volume quality related issues start to come to the forefront for me. Not acceptable. I'll take the Porsche.
Of course, this won't matter to someone with more money than me and 10 cars parked in their driveway. It's all relative. But that's where I stand.
Regards,
Jeremy
PS for the record, the GT4 does not have scaffolding in the back. Unless you specify the clubsport pack. It's perfectly feasible to spec one as a road car with comfort seats and no clubsport pack.

Ive noted my interest with Brandon.... but Im just not quite convinced. Im only 4 months into the latest S I bought new in October, and only just got the 2ubular fitted too. Tbh.... the launch of the new model has convinced me how much I love the existing model.Andy G wrote:So whos going to put their money where their mouth is first then?

Maybe when I see one in the flesh I will feel differently. I think what I will do is enjoy my S for a while more and put my money down on a stripped out hardcore Evora 400 whenever that gets released.

Out of my league, Andy! I'll stick with what I have, which is still not really real yet
But. Yes. I would.

I'll make my final decision when I go to Geneva, given a convertible and cup are on the cards for 2016 I may hold off for one of them.

If my new company, AMP4 takes off in a big way, then I will certainly be considering one.
