Jewelery heist

Post by tut » Wed Apr 08, 2015 2:19 pm

Michael Miller, a jeweller from Knightsbridge, said he "felt sick" at the prospect of losing up to £50,000 of uninsured jewellery and watches.

My heart bleeds for him and his poor hair style.

Regardless of his barnet, if someone broke into a safe deposit box of mine and took all my gear I'd be fuming as well.

Being a bit cruel to him, it was not taking out insurance on valuables like that that got me, but then again I supposed he thought that it was safe in Deposit boxes.

You would think that Insurance would be peanuts if there is so little risk, however it has happened a few times in the past.

Have they ever worked out how one of the previous heists in the Gardens happened? The one where they concluded that someone walked through a steel door? Or was it an urban myth?

The problem with getting insurance as an individual is that some people like to rotate what is in their safety deposit boxes (ie, take 2 watches out the deposit box, and put 2 different ones in). Home insurance will typically cover you for possessions being worn or in the home, but not typically in a deposit box..... so you go and try to get separate insurance for what's in the box which isn't as easy as it sounds, especially if you are prone to rotating the contents.
I have no signature.

Surely just easier to hide stuff in the house, so many places - especially fro stuff like jewels... We had a joiner make us a secret compartment in the last house...

The Police sniffer dogs can still normally detect weed though, even when it's well hidden.

Not for insurance purposes though.
