Anyone who hasn't sorted Euro breakdown cover might want to have a look at ADAC Plus - I've been with them for a year, having joined prior to a drive to Italy last August.

£60~ a year, no vehicle age restrictions, they'll repatriate your car if you break it properly and you can also use it in the UK the rest of the year (They send their UK partner the AA out!)

Was just having a look there Ross at the ADAC plus but states you need to stay in Germany?

I bolted on to my (recently renegotiated) AA cover for £60.

I had ADAC cover a few years ago as they recover from the Nurburgring for free so could've been handy. I used it as my euro cover at the time.

Do LOT require paper copies of insurance before your allowed on track?

French cops will demand insurance certificate when they stop you. Check the regs for what you need to carry for driving in France... Like High vis in the car etc. too

LOT don't require it but if you are in an accident or are asked by the nice Policeman to provide it you should have a copy of your insurance certificate and log book to be on the safe side. You used to have to get a green card from insurers before driving in Europe but I think that's a thing of the past and most insurers will cover you for upto a certain time limit in EU. Should say in your insurance schedule.

I should add that I've been stopped and not been asked to provide it, but I take it anyway.

driving licence paper counterpart (see below) – if you have a photocard licence
an International Driving Permit (when necessary)
vehicle registration document (V5c) – the original not a copy
motor insurance certificate
passport(s)
your travel insurance documents
