Yes, there were some issues that made it prudent for us not to discuss this subject, but it appears that those are now resolved.

Does his new place have a name? Is it a lotus specialist or just a general garage?

Craig Moncrieff (Cars) I believe is what he's going with - sorry that we had to pull the original thread - as was said, it was at the request of Craig himself. He's setting up as a Lotus and Volvo servicing specialist.

I don't think he's got an online presence or anything yet - it really is very early days and typical Craig, he's getting stuck in helping folk out before the business is properly started.

I'm moving this thread to testimonials, as that's what it is.

Glad it's ok to post about this now. I've used Craig's place twice now. The first time was to get the Evora's brake pads and fluid changed. The paint on the walls wasn't even dry and Craig still sorted me out in the usual Moncrieff customer service we are all used to.

Car was back in for a full service, geo and some exhaust stuff last week again all in the usual super flexible nothing is a problem to do manner.

Top job Craig, and I wish you the best of luck for the future. Thanks.

Also someone in an earlier post asked what cars Craig will be working on, we'll it looks to me like practically anything as the few times I've been in I've seen all different Loti, Ford Cosworth, R8, VW Camper, Rover etc etc.

Oh and thanks to Callum too, who looked after me while Craig went to Frolic.

Can he swap tyres in his new place? I can see his new place from my office window and it would be very convenient.

Not yet, he is continuing to use Redpath Tyres, you should be able to see them from your office too! :)

Yes Craig can swap tyres. By using Redpath, who he's trusted since CLCM changed hands :-)

Thanks to Craig for managing to fit my car in for a filter and oil change on the way home from the Frolic. I noticed that the oil was much darker towards the end of the trip, so a quick call while we were in the Alps on Monday and a time was arranged for when we were passing on the way home. A quick text when we came off the ferry in Newcastle to give him our ETA and all was good.

There are a lot of things I would like to pay testimony to Craig for over the last few months, but it will just get boring.

So for now, can I just acknowledge the dedication to fly out to Marseille to supervise the final track session of Frolic 2015, when inevitably he found several jobs to do on weary vehicles. Including inspection of overheating issues with my Evora.

Craig also waved his magic wand several times before I left for Frolic, organising replacement keys, tyre re-balancing and servicing in a very complicated schedule whilst at the same time trying to establish a brand new business.

If he does a good enough job of the post-Frolic patch-ups and repairs, I'll post about that in due course ;-)

Owner, Willie, has retired. Not 100% clear but A N Other, perhaps his son, has taken it on. But skills and attention to detail are not what they were.

Redpath appear to be on a par with the Willie-era service, and have delivered for me (via Craig) a couple of times already. They are in South Gyle so not far from CLCM in any case.

My CLCM geo in the "Post Willie" era was a mess, and destroyed a pair of front tyres.

Repath seem to get a good rep. :thumbsup
