Cobra Goldline 6019HF

Post by thesurfbus » Mon Sep 28, 2015 8:11 am

My S1 has a Cobra Goldline 6019HF fitted, occasionally the siren goes off for no apparent reason (like 5am this morning).
Although the siren goes off, the hazards don't flash and it doesn't immobilize the engine either.
I have the key to turn the siren off, but you can't remove the key when its turned to the off position, and it also immobilizes the engine.
Any suggestions?

Low battery? My S1 used to go off when the battery dipped in voltage. Battery conditioner fixed that.

The battery is less than 2 years old, and I use a battery conditioner, so kind of ruled that out, but will check the voltage on the battery tonight.
There is an alarm fuse, what would happen if I pulled it?

I had the standard 6442 number so not sure.

Worth checking the switches on the compartments covers and internal sensor. But I'm not any more help sorry.

Its probably the internal backup battery failing. We had the same problem with her old corsa. Try and open it up and replacing them.

If your not game for that or it goes wrong, abacus alarms are really helpful with cobra units. You have to send it to them though

I did think it could be the internal backup battery, got some spare time this weekend, so will put on my ear defenders and open her up.
