192mph, and he was not even stopped for speeding. Good old FB at its best.

But 146 on the M25 by A N Other is clearly a lie...

they should be banned for being utter F*ckwits - how many people do you hear about getting done for antics they filmed and put on Youtube....muppetry.

192mph one handed while filming and not crashing though - that takes some doing!!

"A Freedom of Information request by the IAM (who hate drivers) in February revealed Britain's two worst speeders had been caught at 146 mph by speed cameras, both by Kent Police on the M25.

My emphasis. Another speeding story where the IAM are campaigning to raise awareness of how there should be more done about speeding. No evidence to support there viewpoint but they are, after all, Britain's leading road safety charity.

Ah bless the IAM and their rent-a-quote dept.

I wasn't aware that the IAM was an anti-speeding lobby.

Every time someone mentions IAM I get the vision of old blokes with perforated driving gloves and flat caps holding up queue's of traffic religiously sticking to the speed limit.

Agree with Andy, if you are dumb enough to do 192mph on the busy public highways and then post it all over the internet then you deserve what you get.

There will be a village in England missing an idiot now.

Not big and not clever......I like to drive fast too, but there are places where the risk to others is vastly reduced and the chances of being caught also. As above re village idiot comment. Must say what a sadly quiet car at that speed tho..lol.....Also I'm a believer in the anti 'Speed Kills' lobby, speed contributes, but imo stupid driving is the biggest cause of accidents. Seen many sub 40mph crashes........

More fuel to the reduce speeds, increase fines, camera, laws n points supporters...nice one mate, thank you.....

.
A common misconception. IAM teach making good progress and appropriate speed for the prevailing circumstances. You will rarely be held up by an IAM driver unless you are well beyond the stated speed limit.

Indeed. I was taught to make the most of the available speed limit and make good progress, where safe to do. Very much the ethos of SE road runs IMHO,... perhaps with a little added enthusiasm.

IAM examiners are all former Police Class 1 instructors. Not unaccustomed to a turn of speed.

Holier-than-thou types *without* Advanced Driver Training are the ones to watch out for.

Easy to spot. They flash their headlights a lot :-)

Neither was I but that story portrays them as anti-speeding. (OK it's the media, and OK I was, having re-read my post, trolling a bit. But whilst you are a dapper chap of extraordinary style and can carry off the string backed gloves, and Shug looks very much the country gent in his flat cap, I wonder about the other advanced drivers...)
