Fuel Economy for V6 Exige (and Evora NA and S, and Elise S)
Re: Fuel Economy for V6 Exige (and Evora NA and S, and Elise
Anthony, is the 2014 car noticeably better than the 2011 one? Both economy and in general?

I've owned 2011 N/A and now have 2013 S. I can tell you that the jump in quality on the interior is significant. A lot of the annoying things in the 2011 car have been eliminated e.g. the really stiff gear shift, the draft that comes through the driver foot well, the pedal positions etc.smitstui wrote:Anthony, is the 2014 car noticeably better than the 2011 one? I've had 2010 and 2015 Evoras and there is a definite step up in the newer models. The interior somehow just feels more substantial & solid

My other biggest complaint about the 2011 'S' one I had, apart from fuel, was that I just couldn't get the cabin warm in winter. Thinking back, it was always after running and it always felt like a cold draft on my legs!
Its not like I am lotusless just now. But, because of the downturn , her indoors wants me to have fewer cars. Considering I work from home and my mileage is so low I think I could potentially live with just one car (plus the family car, plus a project car
). An n/a Evora or a V6 Exige was my thinking. But by tomorrow I will have changed my mind again

I'm betting that's because of the draft issue on the older cars, not an issue now.smitstui wrote:My other biggest complaint about the 2011 'S' one I had, apart from fuel, was that I just couldn't get the cabin warm in winter. There is a fix on the seloc wiki for it now but at the time I used to drive with the heat targeted to the feet to get rid of it.Mikie711 wrote:I always thought that was my imagination, you live and learn.SAJ wrote:the draft that comes through the driver foot well.

I would say so. I owned a 61 for a while before getting the 64. Quality and finish is much better - although not strictly comparing apples with apples as the 64 is an SR with all the lovely alcantar a bits. Infotainment is much improved too. Not really sure if it goes any better - but as a much nicer place to be I definitely use the new one more than the old onesmitstui wrote:Anthony, is the 2014 car noticeably better than the 2011 one? All in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? I consider our 2010 Evora to be a fine place to be. But our benchmark is a 1999 Elise
Albeit our 2009 MINI which the Evora replaced, was also a very pleasant interior environment so the Lotus didn't have it easy.
Looking forward to a couple of tankfuls in it a this week actually. Ullapool and God's Own Driving Roads Thurs to Sat. Can't wait

I would tend to agree. MY 61 wasnt a bad place to be at all. If I had hated it that much I would have never changed from the Exige V6 back into another Evora. The more I drive the car, and the longer I own it the more it gets under my skincampbell wrote:All in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? I consider our 2010 Evora to be a fine place to be. Beware of "Abigail" it has now been upgraded to Amber, might have to weigh the Evora down so it doesn't blow away......campbell wrote:

Enjoy the roads - very jealous - its a great place to drive; but I agree with Kinger - watch yourself on that west coast!campbell wrote:Looking forward to a couple of tankfuls in it a this week actually. Ullapool and God's Own Driving Roads Thurs to Sat. Can't wait

Er yes, noticing the warnings escalating. I guess that rules out hillwalking then

We're safely installed in The Ceilidh Place. Better journey than expected albeit a bit biblical up the side of Loch Ness. Starting to blow up now.
Back on topic, 34 and 32 mpg en route. Lisa first stint, me second
The Evora is bloody brilliant as a GT.
Right, wine o'clock.

Actually - I need to get Mrs Y to drive the Evora....she has never driven it. Might try and get her out in it sometime soon!
