P on Stack

Post by Tim S » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:59 pm

P, not pee

Started the car yesterday morning and a P appeared on the Stack display just to the right of the trip mileage. Then turned the engine off while I shut the garage and it didn't show up again.

Car is running fine so no particular worry, just I've never seen it before and wondered what it might be. Any clues?? (K series 111S)

Thanks

Tim

Don't think so. Can't be the first time I've driven off with the handbrake on!

Probably not meant to be there at all - was it very cold and/or has the battery been flat/disconnected? My money would be on freak output rather than an actual P

Wot Robin said, mine was acting up all sorts of strange artefacts and garbled gelibberish mentioned it to Craig when I dropped of a few weeks ago he said battery probably low. Diagnosis not being driven enough.

OK thanks all.

Car is used reasonably frequently, but battery is old. Maybe time for a new one :(

Batter low confirmed... Bought a charger/conditioner and it reported only 40% charged (can't remember voltage) and that was after a 25 mile drive on the motorway so it must have been pretty low.

It may just not be holding a charge - i.e fully charged it might look like a 40% battery ...

Now fully charged reporting 12.7 volts 100% :-)

Won't find out if it fixed my display weirdness till the spring :-(
