Seems logical.....

It's surely at the top money for an Exige now and given that it's stood for 5 years I think they may have it a while. Still, it only takes one person and you're quids in.

I would assume thats so he can try to get his original asking price......Still very strange though and will put most poeple off that have been looking at it already I would guess.

I still think that car could be a great purchase for someone. Fresh paint, right bits etc. Good mileage. I think people missed out at 24k. Last perfect example that sold publicly was in the £35k mark. But it was a flawless exsmple.

Plans auto sport sold an s1 last year, I think, for the £25k mark, but may be an exception to the rule

I sent him an e-mail about it but got no response. wouldn't be going to look at it at that price now though

This one is MOTd now as well, presumably the seller read the post on the previous page saying they should MOT and ask 28k ;)

Oops that'll be my fault then

I must admit I have had a really strange experience on my latest hunt. 3 cars I was interested in that I pursued ended up with the seller deciding to "increase" the asking price. In each case I had shown serious interest and was wanting to make an offer. That's excluding this one.

Some seller techniques are odd too, not returning calls, not supplying better photos once a lengthy call was had, etc.

You used to have to work hard when selling.....

Changed days :D

There are two schools here ...

(1) People who are looking at the financial aspect of it will umm and ahh about the history, future values, etc., all of which makes perfect sense.

(2) Elise people who will just buy it, drive it, laugh when it breaks and employ man maths at any time the finances don't quite make sense :-)

Cheers,
Robin

The one at Southampton one doesn't have the desirable alcantara sport seat option (not clear if this one does either though) and the interior is cream which is a bit marmite. It's s non air on too, another personal preference thing but for me the different dash was important for it not looking like an Elise inside. It's also had paint. I would guess these cars are pretty similar in how much work etc is required. I still think someone should have bitten his arm off at 24k. ;-)

On Robin's scale I'm really a 2, as otherwise it would be hard to track it. :thumbsup

It's amazing the appreciation on these.....it's jumped £4k almost overnight on pistonheads! Is that just for an MOT???

Very weird seller strategy indeed. I tried many times for a proper dialogue with "the seller" when this car was for sale before, but could never really work out what was going on as the responses were very vague when I tried to view, and I was apparently dealing with the owners "friend". In the end I just gave up and bought elsewhere.......

Yes, these cars are rare now, but they still come up often enough that you won't have to wait too long.....you might just have to look a bit harder to tease some out. Values are strange too.....most owners think their car is worth a fortune, but a buyer with real hard cash is always a force to be reckoned with if someone is selling.

I had four different options when I was looking seriously....at least 2 are still around for sale.
