It will probably be quicker but it's not all about speed it's the whole package and the heritage that goes with the GT badge as well as the looks etc...
Yep, that's my point. That's what you're paying for with the GT4.

I was told porsche dealers will buy trade ins of rare models at the inflated prices, if that is correct then I guess it's fair that they can market at that price provided the model is no longer available. I'm never sure how likely the inflated prices are to be achieved, what is the actual sale price.

A guy from my work got a gt4, which was a cancelled order, he had run an early cayman before. So quite possibly didn't know which colour he was getting. I'm sure he'd have been happy enough with an S but given the opportunity for a rare model, which may well increase in value, why wouldn't he buy the Gt4

Car markets for rare models are just weird at times, driven by speculation, press reports and people with a bit of spare cash fulfilling a dream.

I spotted your new investment in Kintore recently. Such a pretty car. 8) 8) 8) I flashed and waved from a red Scooby wagon (not mine).

Sharp eyes, or maybe it was your ears. Definitely in the dream category, if it turns out to be an investment over the next 10 years great, if not I'll have had a bit of fun before I'm too old.

Incidentally I was pulled over in for a "vehicle check" in Kintore on Tuesday morning 3am, maybe a response to the recent car thefts etc.

I think the GT4 justifies its Evo car of the year rating, couple of mates who have been fortunate to have one and they are enjoying the GT4 (however they are enthusiasts and not speculators).

Do feel sorry for people who would have wanted to buy one but Porsche always keep its GT cars limited, however there was a time when Porsche could not sell GT cars due to the market so it's all swings and roundabouts, just lucky the market can sustain over lists at the moment but it may not last forever.

However, cannot complain about limited edition Porkers as I was lucky enough to buy the Spyder at the bottom of the market and makes a change having a car appreciate in value, the demise of the 6 cyclinder Porsche should mean it keeps from depreciating in the long term.

Limited numbers do help keep their money, just look at the Exige RGB to see that it hasn't lost any of its value (may have even appreciated)

Agree that what the OPC's have been doing is pretty scandalous. Not as if the VW group have been squeeky clean recently.

As it affect a miniscule amount of overall car buyers it goes unnoticed to the general public, not as if the GT4 buyer who missed out would get much sympathy by Joe public.

I think I counted eight 911 GT4's at KH this morning, there can't be many more in Scotland! Also numerous GT3 and a lone Elise! :thumbsup

Looked like a owners club trackday - I stopped for coffee while out on my bike! :)

It was Porsche Club Great Britain (PCGB) the official Porsche club organised through Glasgow Porsche had a track day for today.

Good if GT4's were being used on track rather than stored as investments.
I'm on the forum but didn't bother to pay the £70 per year to be a member, mind you front engined Pirsches aren't real ones anyway !!
