Well done Kerry.
You better check your tent fits.

Yep top marks for observation, coincidentally also where the exige avatar photo was taken 13 years earlier.........I realised when I was driving past, so looked for the exact spot, but they have fixed the fence.istoo wrote:

Needless to say, but it is incredible. Hard to explain really, I've not had anything quite like it. It is so comfortable you can forget what you are driving, and as a result are not always prepared for the over positive reaction you sometimes get. Then you hit the paddle a couple of times and the character changes completely. If you want to get to know it better, I can highly recommend the EVO youtube diary on their 12C, very informative a straight forward assessment.
The Mclaren community seems to have a few committed members who circuit scotland. I did chuckle at their attempt tour of Wales, lots of interest, but no uptake when the price was announced for 2 nights in the 5 star hotel, a paid routemeister and enroute support team. Maybe I should suggest camping! There is a strong US following who have gathered lots of issues. In fairness to Mclaren, they have worked through the issues and upgraded systems to where necessary.
So far it hasn't missed a beat on the functional side, just a few niggles from lack of use, sticky latches etc, so even though it's a high tech science project there are still bits to tinker with.
The mess on the front is track wrap, I got some Xpel film fitted in all the problem areas, but they didn't have a pattern for the front with the parking sensors. Clark at PB did a great job of fitting and is following up with Xpel to get a front pattern. Track wrap was never going to look good, so he made it look temporary - very functional.

Sounds Evora-esque. But clearly with a lot more to it!
We expect to see it on a Campaganza this year. No excuses.

I started my mid life crisis at least 10 years ago and plan to keep it going for some time.
Like yourself it's part of a carefully considered plan. I hope to keep it, use it and enjoy it for the next 10 years.
As for the tent, it's got loads of space, although I don't think I'll volunteer for firewood carrying.
I did have to laugh when it was pointed out that the fuel gauge isn't too good on the bottom half of the tank..........not again. Range seems to be pretty good, but the MPG computer gives a range based on current consumption, so bugger all use.

You'll upset the S1, it might want to go camping. I'm not sure what to do with it to be honest. It's never been better, Ricky has just given it a service and new MOT. Emerald is nicely mapped. suspension completely renewed, geometry done and fresh 048's. Perfect time to get it on the market, but I think I need to have a decent drive to decide if I can part with it.campbell wrote:Sounds Evora-esque. But clearly with a lot more to it!

I was told that is not the sports exhaust, so goodness knows what that sounds like. I wouldn't know the difference to look or listen to them though.Callummarshall wrote:

Wow, nice one.
Mclaren getting a lot of really good reviews on latest models and for their continual improvements and retrofits to earlier models.
I stay a couple of miles from the McLaren 'Glasgow' garage always have a good look as I pass by, although bit of a stretch calling it Glasgow when it is in Lanarkshire, 15miles and 25mins drive from city centre.
