It does what it says on the tin - it's where the stars get to park

I got an email a couple of months ago with a link inviting anyone wanting to display their car to apply for a space in the stars car park.

The F1 car looks good. Is there an itinerary available for when different cars are running on the Friday?

Thanks for the drop box schedule. Went with family and friends today, just caught the train to exhibition centre as I think parking would have been a challenge. Was a good day out and a good introduction for my 3 year old son to the world of Motorsport. It was quite emotional to see Colin's Subaru and all the more poignant given its his dad driving the car, probably worth it just to see this. David Llewelyn was trying quite hard in a gp b Audi short wheelbase and the red bull f1 car was loud and good fun. The indoor stunt driving is worth seeing as well.
If it could have been improved, I felt it was quite busy around the area where they do the donuts and the grandstands which I didn't have tickets for spoiled the view. If I was on my own I might have paid the extra but I was with four other adults and I felt the extra money was a bit steep. I'd have liked to take part in something like karting or a caterham autotest type thing. I really feel the need to do some competitive driving now. if you do want to do it on the cheap I noticed that on the opposite side of the express way people had managed to find a good free elevated vantage point on a road which was near some flats directly opposite the secc building.

There was some auto testing going on at the top end of the concourse next to the car park but looked like a club thing rather than something you could participate in.
There were lots of kids with dads about, good to see them imparting their knowledge and experience and it was the type of event that gave a great dip into all things automotive and motorsport. Great that it wasn't too packed to enjoy it too, although I suspect that it might be much busier over the weekend.
