Oh and there are some temp crossmembers on there just now. It'll look a bit neater when final bolts are installed and a couple other panels trimmed back. Just sayin'

Good tip. Ta!

Lisa well impressed with your design. I think secretly she thinks mine is inadequate. But would never say, lol.

She's just order the Team FMC costumes tho...

I'm also not impressed with the inclusion of a 350mm jump!! The original site say (kerb height). Most of us are entering kids as drivers for the thrill of the race. I feel this is an attempt to turn it into a crash and bash like the Red Bull events. Hopefully our carts, and kids will all survive. :thumbsup
Firstly - please don't fret about the maximum width - we will not, I repeat not be out checking dimensions with a ruler!

Secondly - please also do not worry about the jump.... this has been a bit of a mistake on my behalf. We have 2 in construction - one approx. 15-18mm high - but it didn't look that great - so the joiner decided to built a bigger one. Its not been received with universal acclaim - so we are currently looking at alternatives.

Nothing has ever been done with any malice... rather we are complete soapbox-novices and I'm finding I'm making a few mistakes on the way to getting this venture off the ground. Please stick with it!

No worries, Tony. A go around for any jump will give us options as to how brave we feel :-)

Happy to feel our way with you as organisers. 1st for us too.

Ferg...interestingly, Batman has been selected here too. By Lisa. Lol.

No worries Tony, reading back my tone was a bit tight. Probably panic setting in with the time left. :-) I'm actually staggered at the amount of organisation you have to put in place for your event. Soap box rightly down the list of real issues. So thanks for even taking the time to respond. We're looking forward to it!!

H&S mate.

Ah the indignity of standing in a warehouse trying to chop a sheet of ply with a blunt saw whilst the warehouse staff look on and judge ;)

Aye. Times have changed!

Anyway I now have 4 pairs of uprights pre-cut (need spares), 2 cross-braces, and enough left over for 4 shelves, or 2 further chassis, or mega front and rear wings lol.

Must be company specific. The timber merchants I use are happy to cut bits to size. Glad you got got it sorted.

Would love to get involved (reliving my miss-spent youth as a go-karter), but have a few other things on the go just now
