As I will not be using it now I put it onto Gumtree, and although I reduced the price twice I had no replies.

It is brand new and fully boxed with wiring connectors that I bought so that it will fit virtually any modern double DIN car. They retail for £740, there are only two on eBay both at £650, and I had it on at £285. As you say it is worth putting it on SELOC and PH, I did advertise it on here but again no interest.

Exhaust wise not sure you can lose a cat on the standard pipes....Might be wrong tho. A few of us have put on an my13 s exhaust which is a great upgrade and cheap as chips.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

DJ wrote:Sorry Campbell, but it was a red or white one I was after. And sorry too Simon. I had viewed the car the previous weekend as my sale was in process of going through. In negotiating on Thursday they did say there was someone else lined up to view it - must have been you.

The car is in mint condition, the previous owner being a bit of a star of the stage and spending most of the last few years performing all over the world, so only did 800 miles last year and 1k the year before when back in the UK. Whilst hoping for a white car, getting an ice white is a bonus - it's stunning when all polished up. Re exhaust, coming from a 2bular, I'm finding the standard exhaust very quiet. Been reading about it being possible to put a decat pipe in place of the 3rd cat with little impact on emissions. Might do that as an easy start, although appreciate that's just noise rather than performance. It's not going on track anyway.

Also reading about the groans of the Alpine unit, it's actually not that bad once you take time to learn it. I've got the Bluetooth working, my phone contacts downloaded and managed to switch off the annoying voice interruption to the radio from the sat nav if you happen to do 61 in a 60, or 31 in a 30. I've also got electric gates to the drive and an electric garage door so loving the Homelink which again all connected up first time. Programmed the CDL to auto lock on move off also.

All in, a very promising start to Evora ownership.... And I haven't even tried the SPORT button yet. :D

MY 2010 NA had the decat pipe fitted and it was nice, nut I also have the Lotus Blue tipped sprts exhaust. The pre MY12 had 3 cats, two on the manifold and one between the manifold and exhaust, from MY12 they deleted the 3rd cat as no longer needed - it was deleted on both the NA and S at this time.

I've since had the 2bular headers fitted (gets rid of the 2 ceramic cats that cook the engine) and a sport cat fitted, also from 2bular. Oh my god, what a difference to the noise that made and it pulls harder too, an estimated 20-25bhp extra is nice....
2001 VX220 SC - Sylvia - with Larini sports exhaust, chargecooler etc.

Put the Alpine on SELOC and it sold within an hour.

ps:- must have priced it too low as I could have sold it several times over.

pss:- on fire today, barely finished typing the advert for the Momo wheel and it sold. Presume that you put the Evora on SELOC Campbell?

Co-incidentally, I'll probably be going along to the Bo'ness hill climb this weekend for a look around. :)
