Gareth, witchery is fantastic - the setting, service and general ambiance is second to none. My recommendation - the steak tartare!

If you're considering the Tower, remember its run by the same people. I was there earlier this year and found the menu limited, the vino expensive and the surroundings cramped.

Truly opulent is prestonfield house - great venue.

I've tried ducks a few times, its kinda in the middle of nowhere with no real choices for drinkies afterwards within easy walking distance.

If you've cancelled your witchery reservation - can i have it?

Gareth

You'll have a great time there, you may remember from Le Mans Sian has the same eating disorder as your wife and is always well catered for at The Witchery, just remember to order your bottle of Petrus early to make sure it's had enough time to breath before you start your meal, (I'm sure they have it on their wine list) if you look at this link, you'll see why it costs so much in a resturant.

Have fun

Scary prices Giles, don't like red anyway..!

Remember how much I enjoyed the last meal at Le Mans that Sian cooked. Cheese and bread, veggies....soooo much nicer than the meat I had leading up to it....

Well just back from Edinburgh.
The Witchery was awesome. We stayed in the Temple Suite - £275 a night but worth EVERY penny.

For dinner I had Crab to start, then Venison and to finish a chocolate torte with ginger ice cream. Couple of vodkas.

No wine but I had just drank the bottle of champers in our room.

Total bill was alright actaully. £84

Totally recommend it.

Bed looks a tad on the small side!!!!

Did you get to it all the food in your dining room in your suite, or in the restaurant?

Ate in the restuarant - Secret Garden.
The breakfast was a continental and was delivered to the room in a large basket. Fruit, yogurt, croissants, cereal, juice and the Scotsman!

The suites are situated across the road from the restaurants incase anyone wondered. I've had loads of people say they never knew The Witchery had rooms.
