That will be mental Scotty. Weighing if it'll be too early in the year for me. After the cross the other week, I've got a lot of work ahead.

Has anyone done any of the Scottish Enduro MTB series? There is a round at Pitfichie next April that I'm looking to enter but not sure whether to to do the full course or the Lite/Short course. Just not sure how hard/long the transitions are between the timed stages in the full versus short course.

Cheers, Paul.

yep :)
Clark, Callum have done lites
I raced masters

Lites is around 3000ft of climbing
Full is around 5000ft of climbing

But there is no pressure to get to the top mega fast as long as you are within the window its quite achievable. I

Shame as pitfichie isnt a great venue, but its for 'other' reasons (NETCO) will get chatting to the man behind it and see if we can get some of my local stuff on the agenda :)

ps, have you been in touch with clark about riding? If not lets attempt a local SE MTB run, at least six of us now!

Cheers for that. Will need to assess my fitness and decide :D

Were you at the NETCO AGM last week? It was good to see a decent turn-out. It will be interesting to see what they use at Pitfichie, it's not a particularly dry hill so it could be messy.. but it is Scotland! I was there yesterday and saw a few guys looking like they were scoping out some new lines.

I haven't yet, but yes it would be a good idea to get a ride organised soonish.

Interested in getting a MTB for just some occasional use. Nothing too hardcore initially

So many questions - what bike do I need? How much should I spend? Should I buy new of used? Do I need full suspension or a solid frame.?

First question - where will you be using it? Trails? canal path? Forest walks ?
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?
