Anglesey track day
Anglesey track day
Anyone done the above?
I was just watching the video link from the Caterham 620s on Pistonheads and it looks like a nice track in a nice location.

Good track but hard on heavy cars. A proper pain in the ass to get to also.

Treat the journey as a road trip and enjoy the North Wales scenery...

Re: Anglesey track day
Done it once and thought it was a great track. Having seen it from the coast nearby before on prior holiday, I thought it would be flat, as the headland it's on seems that way. Far from it! The corkscrew bit is as three dimensional as you can get!
When I went I linked it up with a day at Oulton, leaving a day in between. Worked well and as Campbell says, there's good scenery and driving through the hills in between. Made the trip a lot more worthwhile than all the way just for Anglesea, although it's a nice place to visit for a few days quite apart from the track.

Re: Anglesey track day
Coastal layout is the one to do on a trackday.
International layout misses out the corkscrew and substitutes a full throttle/heavy braking blast to a hairpin and back (maybe adds overtaking opportunities and ok if big power but ruins the flow imo and the corkscrew is one of the most fun and unique sections).
Some proper fast and ballsy corners, church in the wet or flat in the dry...ooft!

Fun in the wet (see video) and awesome in the dry...heres the full international circuit but I have to agree the costal is better.
