Maybe not. I am sure on FB that I saw that they had sold an Aston last week. Doubt they sold that previously, although maybe a p/x? Anyhow, doesn't seem particularly conducive to great customer relations.

It's not as if Lotus dealers are in every town so I don't think it is unreasonable to go to a Lotus dealer about selling a Lotus. It's a small community, well connected, and if I was the dealer I'd want to be a full part of this community. Doesn't mean I'd give stupid offers that made no sense, but I'd be damn keen to keep Lotus owners (or prospective owners) coming through the door for a cuppa and a blether.....

Wouldn’t go near MMC for anything. Brandon is in the Volvo side and it is now Ian looking after Lotus. No idea what Ian is like to deal with but I'd just sell it privately or trade in against a 400 from one of the other dealers.

I'd check with Craig when he opens up again this week to see if he knows anyone looking for one. As you're not in a hurry I'd just put it up for private sale and see how it goes.

They're a wee bit harder to sell privately than your average bear. As I have been finding out :-)

I think dealers are aware of this...

Where have you been advertising apart from on here Campbell? Good cars seem to sell, and Murray's have sold quite a fair few to new owners down south. You should try pistonheads and TLF too.

Ditto. I wouldn't let Murray Motors wash my car, never mind leave it with them.
From my experience, they'll probably break it whilst it's in their possession then tell you that you did it.
Worst main dealers in history.
Best avoided.

I've not advertised yet as I'm just looking to see where the market is at. There is only one lotus dealer in Scotland so I'm having second thoughts re an evora 400. Brandon was excellent.. Why is he doing volvo now?

I believe he was doing so well at Lotus he got a promotion to become the dealer principle for the Volvo dealership and site. Well deserved to be honest.

There are dealers in Carlisle and Newcastle and although MMC is getting some bad press re aftersales they are also getting positive comments too and the sales side hasn't been an issue so don't rule out a 400 as they are fantastic cars.

Was on PH and Autotrader too. Some reluctance for people to come north as fair choice in the south it seems.

Some interest and came v close to sale twice but that's life!

Would prefer not to take the bath of selling back to trade but we'll see...

I think maybe you hit the nail on the head re location - not many people in Scotland have an Evora, even fewer looking to buy, but there is a steady stream in the much larger market that is Englandshire, especially down South. As I said before, I know of at least 4 Evora's MMC sold as used to buyers down south. That's more than I know of them selling used to folk in Scotland!
