Everyone that's going later on can they please laugh at VXJON if his car reads less than 154.6 bhp.

Cheers :kermit

That was quite busy then

Apologies to everyone for the amount of time you had to hang around for, I hope in the end it was worth it (I expect DDtB is happy :D ) Unfortunately these things always end up behind schedule. Still, thumbs up to the boys at Dastek though, I think they might still have some cars to get on the rollers.

Ed, got your text mate, its still a gain on what you had but that said a good dump would probably have a better affect on your power to weight ratio :P

149.5 bhp@6807rpm and 136.2 lb.ft......

not bad for a mk1 135. 56mm throttle body, cat bypass & cheap Ebay filter.

Close ratio box makes a big difference on the road. That would explain why some of the 160's struggle to keep up...
Looking at the graph, if the engine could rev more the power would keep climbing, Nice straight line with no flat spots. Unlike some we looked at today....

135.. best Mk1 Elise.(cept mk1 Exige. Thats just sex on wheels)
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

197.6bhp @ 8,260rpm!!!
<BG>

And that's with no modifications whatsoever . . . standard exhaust, etc.! :D :D :D :D Can't wait to see what happens when I add a hurricane and (perhaps) a Stage 2.

Ed . . . it must have been because you left your lights on ;)

Big thanks to Kenny for organising and to the guys at Dastek. :thumbsup

Also, big thanks to Ed for that wee shot in the Exige and for the advice on the setup of my car. If I hadn't only had the car 3 months Ed, I would be seriously interested! And thanks to Kenny/Ed/Jon for the exhaust noise demos . . . I still can't decide what kind to get! :?

No I didnt take the S1, no real point now it's effectively sold.

Took the S2 as I was keen to prove to Mac that is it down on power a bit. Now gives him something to work on over the winter to figure our where the 10 BHP has dissappeared to.

Maybe the S1s new owner will take it to Dastek sometime in the not to distant future.

Hmm , interesting given that cars rarely make there claimed bhp figures I'm guessing that the figures have been altered to over-read by 10-20 bhp in order to keep the punters happy
Just my pessimistic 2p worth. :)

Dastek's rollers are pretty respectable, I think. I doubt there are any deliberate fudge factors there, but there is always a problem getting from power at the wheels to power at the flywheel. What would be interesting to compare would be the power at wheels figures for the two toyota engines.

Ed's engine might make more power if he refits the standard air intake and exhaust - it may be that the ECU is being pessimistic on ignition timing. Also what fuel do you both use? For these tiny differences in BHP if one of you is using a VPower or whatever it's called and the other generic 95 you may well see a slight drop in peak power, again due to ignition timing.

Cheers,
Robin

P.S. Respect to Ed for making it - the most I could handle on Saturday was being led around John Lewis like a child whilst Katie did all the talking ("does he take sugar" ;-)).
