Scary Biscuits
Scary Biscuits
Was too lazy / cold to scrape my commute car this morning (1.2 Corsa with a 3 cylinder engine!!) so decided to take the Elise as it was in my garage. All was going well until I turned off the roundabout for Kirky (coming from Torrance). Got on to the straight bit still in 2nd but about to change up when the backend began to fishtail. Next thing I know I'm heading for the oncoming traffic, managed to catch it but now I'm heading for the kerb, caught it again and then back towards the traffic, finally got control back and the car straightened out. Have to say this is the first time the car has bitten me, I'm just very lucky to have got away with it (certainly not down to driver skill that I avoided a smash).A very humbling experience indeed. PLEASE be carefull. I'm off to change my underwear.

yeah i took the elise in this morning too! took 5 minutes to get into the littel bugger cos i never actually got around to fitting the remote locking kit that i've still got on my kitchen table from months ago now!
i was fairly careful coming in this morning tho cos i know fine well that it's a vicious little bugger on ice and i wasn't in a mad rush to get to work anyway!

Yeah, nice & carefully does it folks...
Have to have mine today (as I'm driving to Cadwell after work) and it's a focusing experience having new Maxsports (barely legal rally slicks) and my engine whose power comes in like a cricket bat at 4k rpm....

Only if that car has insurance on it already, if your brother has not insured it your not covered .ninja wrote:you can do either.Gareth wrote: How do I insure it? Can I add a car to my policy or will I have to be added to his?
if your existing policy is fully comp then you're already insured third party anyway - just don't hit anyone!!

The frost I find is ok (in Edinburgh anyway) but the snow is just lethal.
Guys,
Something I learned last year is to fill the locks full of white grease so that they don't freeze up. I was out to the car for 5 mins last year, had major bother getting into the wee bugger and then left the keys hanging in the door. Having done this they then froze in the lock, faced with the proposition of leaving the car in the street with the keys hanging immovable from the lock I had to get an extention and go to it with the wife's hairdryer.

Liz reminded me today thet she doesn't like the cold or damp... Bit of sideways in Dundee town center!
I didn't think I was going too quick or applying much power at all, just had a bit of a suprise coming off a roundabout! I suspect it was over confidence on my part...
Kept it under control but the taxi that was following a bit too close must have had a shock!
(Tyre pressures were fine I checked before leaving)
So as Johncam says: Please take care!
