As ever, nothing runs smoothly (boom boom)
I called the tuning company last week to get some sort of update and they said they didn't get much done in the 2 weeks they've had it because the engine has an oil leak. They did get it up and running fairly straightforwardly but couldn't progress beyond that so things are on hold at the moment till the folk at LB get back from holiday (tomorrow) and then give me some info (tomorrow??)

When it arrives (if it ever arrives) it should look and sound similar(ish) to this....

Lots of spotters. This was the car running in the '77 Tour de Corse
Not sure I'll ever drive it in the dark tho. Mind you, I'm having window wipers fitted as well.... just incase ;)

Slight thread drift... but hey, it's my thread :blackeye

Re the lights.. I just recently got a Tonka Toy-like Jeep Wrangler and had some additional lights fitted. The led lightbar is absolutely incredible and turns darkness into daylight. The photos really don't do it justice and it alone makes the headlights, the full beam and the triple spotlights totally redundant. I guess if they had been available back in the late '70s then a single aerodynamic lightbar on the front bumper would have transformed the traditional rally-look for these cars.

Which light bar did you go for Jim?

On the Defender I have swapped over the headlights for JW Speakers Evo 2's so that I can now see where I am going, however often thought that a light bar on full beam would be great for lighting up the country roads.

Mine is a Rugged Ridge item so I guess it's this one. https://jeepey.com/product/50-led-light-bar-1520906/

It's so bright it's hard to get a good pic

So another small update for anyone still awake.

Apparently my oil leak wasn't really anything significant and LB sorted it. Oil was dribbling down a threaded plug in the cylinder head when the engine was running but because it was behind the cam wheels it wasn't obvious where it was coming from on the rolling road at the mapping sessions. So.... it goes back to the rolling road next week to be properly set up.

This is a quick video (that I'm not really meant to share yet) taken down at LB a couple of days ago after the leak was sorted. LB say that it's running just on the base map so not ideal, you can hear a flat spot in mid-range and the throttle bodies need balancing... but as a starting point they say it's chuffing awesome!!

Watch on YouTube

More to follow next week I expect :blackeye

Car looks great naked, shame you couldn't get it road licenced like that!

It's all coming together, it's quite exciting just to see the posts you make, I can barely imagine what it's like waiting, anticipating, etc.

The Jeep... there's a joke in there somewhere about them seeing you coming - with all the lights of course :blackeye
